Wow I'm really surprised you guys don't have all these National brands in your areas, I guess I'm pretty lucky.. Although we don't have a true Apple Store here. Perhaps I should go pick up a Publix sub since you guys say they are delicious

I always try to hit the outlets down there, everything is so much cheaper than in NY.

Also, we don't have a Cici's pizza place up here so I try to stop there too for lunch at least one time.

Everything we used to go to has disappeared. Jungle Jims and character connection at the Crossroads and a trip over to sci fi world. All of them are gone now:(

- I always go to Cocao Beach not just to see the folks but to also enjoy the beach, the restaurants (mmm Rubios), see the Disney boats docked and shop in Cocoa Village <snip>

We went to Cocoa Beach for the first time this past March after spending the day at the Kennedy Space Center and I LOVED it!!!! Great little beach village! For those who haven't been, don't forget to hit up Ron Jon Surf Shop for some sweet clothing deals. GREAT store!

Went to the Siesta Keys area last WDW trip in 2009 and I can't decide which beach I like better now - Cocoa or Siesta. Both have plenty to see and do and are gorgeous in their own right. :sohappy:

- Publix subs. Nothing can beat an ultimate with Boar's Head meats! :slurp:
- Steak N Shake and Logan's Roadhouse are missed favorites.
- I went to college in Tennessee last year and spent time having BBQ all over the place there and Georgia. While TN BBQ can't be beat, I've always found Sonny's still up there. Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ on Conroy near Universal was definitely a favorite when I lived in O-Town for my first year of college.
- Studios, Islands, and SeaWorld. Love 'em.
- Old Town is an old fave, used to go all the time as a kid for a 25 cent Pepsi and a Moon Pie at the general store on one end.
- Mall at Millenia has great shopping, as does the Florida Mall. Florida Mall's Macy's has a much better selection, though.
- Love my Orlando Premium Outlets and whatever they're calling the one by Uni now. That one always has an awesome selection of discounted pins and merch at their WDW outlet store.
- Magic games and wrestling events at the old Amway Arena were always a blast. I can't wait to check out the new Amway Center.

... and much more. I lived in Orlando for my first year of college, and before that I'd drive up every other weekend or so from my hometown of West Palm Beach. I'm in SoCal now, but I'm definitely hoping I can get back "home" next year.

I'm gettin a kick out of how people put Dunkin Donuts as a must-do, when up here you can't drive a mile without passing one. We always opt for Krispy Kremes when we go down there (although their coffee is awful!). :D

I guess the people including myself that put Dunkin Donuts as a place of interest is because we don't have them where we live but on the other hand you can't drive a city block without running into a Krispy Kreme down here.

Giadornio's pizza is a must.. a true must..

and then Walmart, to buy drinks and snacks for the week.. because I am NOT paying $4 for a 20 oz bottle of power aide.. when I can pay 99 cents for a 32 oz at the Hess store at the front of the park.. no way..

I am sorry, but when they raise the price of the park, it means I spend LESS AT THE PARK and not more.. MUCH LESS.

We had Krispy Kremes, until about 10 years ago, when it was proven that the chief accountant "cooked the books".. now we have NO doughnut franchise for 100 miles in ANY DIRECTION.. None.. not honey dip, or Dunkin or winchells , or Krispy Kreme..

we are Doughnut starved.. in fact in my town of 75,000 in the area, the best place for a doughnut is St. Francis HOSPITAL.. and its not even close of who is second..

Oh I glad you loved it! Cocoa is no Miami or Daytona, it's just a sleepy little beach town but it has so much character and beauty about it. Ron Jons is great although on some things it can get a little pricey, however they own a Time Share/hotel and restaurant that are all wonderful and it can all be found right next to one of the most beautiful parks and beaches in the area.

I agree...Ron Jons is great.

My first trip to Cocoa Beach was quite a culture shock for me after growing up with the sugar white sands of the Florida panhandle, but I agree CB is a nice little coastal town.

The Florida Mall! Probably half of my dress pants came off the clearance racks at Macy's (which we don't have anywhere close to home).

I always end up loosing or breaking sunglasses too, so Walmart is usually a stop.
