Murphy with fire - footage from two cameras edited together for a really good show.

I've tried to edit this video to give you a good idea of how the California park is developing out Fantasmic.

I should've probably called this video "How I wasted my summer," but it's the new Update. In the last few minutes the video has the entire dragon appearance from the second night (with fire, finally) edited together from two different cameras (one wide, one close) so you can get a good sense of how the entire sequence looks with the dragon now in it. (On the first night, the fire effect malfunctioned.) It also has the summer dragon drama condensed, for any of your friends who want to better understand the excitement/frustration about Murphy.

I am thoroughly impressed by Murphy. It is about damn time he showed up to the party.

I really hope WDW gets one soon. Fantasmic! here needs some help. It is pretty stale.

But as someone who has seen the updated Fantasmic! in person at Disneyland this week, I should remind us all that this new show can not be done justice via a YouTube video. When you are sitting there on the Rivers of America, this show and the new dragon are extremely impressive and way beyond anything that can be experienced on YouTube.

After several years of constant technolgy upgrades and new artistic additions, I've never seen Disneyland's Fantasmic! looking better. And the new dragon is the fire-breathing cherry on top.

Opinions and everything, but, yeah, not even close. The DL Fantasmic! with all the upgrades they've done makes the WDW version look horrible. Saw the WDW version in January and the DL one last month, and even without the dragon it smokes WDW's version. Can't wait to see Murphy live in about three weeks!

Eh...I think WDW should have Jafar standing when Pocohanats stands before he turns into a snake, Hades on the other side also. It would limit the projections, and also bring Ursula's Poor Unfortunate Souls, along with a long refurb proposal list lol
