Multiple Charcter Meals; Single Vacation

Anyone ever do more than one character meal during the same trip?

The Crystal Palace was where we traditionally had breakfast before hitting the park when I was a child... a long, long time ago. I haven't been there since they made it a character meal because my folks didn't like the idea. I loved the CP and I REALLY want to go there and see what kind of memories stir up.

I also would like to do Chef Mickey's because I hear so many good things about it and I think my family will like to see the more traditional Disney characters.

If we do both in one week will we get character overload?

We try to schedule as many as we can during our visits as this helps us avoid them in the parks! We ALWAYS do Chef Mickey's on our first night, and try to fit in another one or 2,.....this year, in addition to Chef Mickey's, we have CP, 1900 Park Fare, Cinderella Breakfast, Ohana, Akershus and Donald's at AK...we know that some characters will be at more than just 1 restaurant, but others won't,.....we have found doing this helps us to avoid having to stand in a line for a while, or stand there and then the character goes away for a while.....but we are on the deluxe dining plan

We do 2-3 every trip and always try to pick ones that have at least 1 different character.

2008 we did dinners @ LTT, CP, CRT & H&V (breakfast)
2009 we did Garden Grill, Cape May (breakfast) and CRT

Another vote for "the more character meals the better."

If we go and have the Deluxe Dining Plan (or just don't care how much we spend) we'll do at least 2 character meals per day. It's the only time my kids don't get bored during a meal while out to eat. The absolutely love the character meals.

Have a great trip!

Seems like I'm just echoing the rest of the responses here, but I do have to agree. Unless you're with someone who has complete objections to characters, i say for it... Last trip for us:

Crystal Palace dinner, Chef Mickey's Breakfast, Ohana's Breakfast, and Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast. It gave us a chance to interact with different characters each time...
CM's: Mickey, Minney, Pluto, Goofy
CP: Pooh, Piglet, Eyore
Ohana: Lilo, Stitch, Mickey
CRT: All of the princesses.

The big cheese was our only duplicate there, and who wouldn't want to see more of him!?

I agree with the others, you should go for it!
On our last trip we stayed for 3 weeks (such a long journey). So, we went to
1. Cape May Cafe- five times
2. Hollywood & Vine- Once
3. Garden grill- Once (we would have gone for breakfast but they don't do that anymore)
4. Tusker House- Once
5. Crystal Palace- Twice
6. Chef Mickeys-Once

And here's my vote for as many character meals as you can fit it. No such thing as character overload, and what better way to get pictures and autographs without standing in line. On our Dec. 08 trip we did Chef Mickey's, Askershus, Tusker House and Liberty Tree Tavern. It was my niece & neohew's first (and probably only) trip, and having dinner with Mickey was the highlight of the trip.

Yes!!! Defiantely worth it!

We ALWAYS do more than one character dining on our trips to WDW. I feel like you get 2x's the benefit.... everyone eats and you get one on one time with each character vs. standing on those long lines in the HOT sun waiting to get your pic taken! I think it's soooo worth multiple dining. My favorite is by far Chef Mickey, 2nd favorite is Akershus at Epcot with all the Disney Princesses. The Crystal palace has Winnie the Pooh and Friends. ENJOY... Going on my 1st Disney Cruise July 2nd with a trip to Walt Disney world right after on the 6th!!! Can't wait!!!!! Have fun!

We loved Chef Mickey's, also did Crystal palace, never too many character meals. If you have small kids it is great.

We did 6 last trip and we were only there for a week. Actually had 7 planned, but we decided to scrap the last one b/c we had too much packing to do. I figure it's better than waiting on long lines to try and meet characters in the parks.

on our last / first trip last summer we did several Character breakfasts (tusker house, 1900 Park Fare, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickeys, and Ohana) and to be honest we got sick of the food after the first one. We were just not impressed at all by the taste of the food. It was nowhere near as good as a standard breakfast buffet you can find at many greasy spoons. However saying that we plan on doing 1900 Park Fare again because we loved the character interaction there.

On our last 9 day trip, we planned and booked 4 character meals but only actually ate at 3. We visited Cyrstal Palace, 1900 Park Fayre and Donalds Safari Breakfast. We skipped Chef Mickeys, choosing to eat at Boma instead.
And yes, we cancelled the reservation in advance

Last September we were at the World 6 days and were on the dining plan, we did a character meal 5 days, for lunch or dinner. Keep in mind most of these meals are buffet style and I felt it wasn't as good as the restaurants with menu items. Mama Melrose is the best food, but no characters. But for us the character meals were all about the characters, not the food. Akerhus at Epcot, was the best of the meals for character dining that we went to. Enjoy!

3 years ago was my first year taking my then 9 yr old daughter...we did Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare GF dinner, Donald's Tusker House Safari, and the Garden Grill :) We also had the dining plan through a PIN code otherwise it wouldn't have been do-able- not for me anyways...however, if you have no worries money wise..go for it!

Oh my! Of course! We do several each trip! We like to dine at ones with different characters each trip - for example CRT for the princesses, Chef Mickey for Mickey and friends, and Crystal Palace for Pooh and friends. Also, 1900 Park Fare is a fave of our - both for breakfast with Alice and friends and then dinner with Cinderella and the Prince and the evil step sisters! (Hilarious by the way!)

We've done multiple character meals with the grandchild and loved them. Different characters and different food depending which you pick. The grandchild loves them that is why we do it. We've done crystal palace lunch, norway with princesses for supper, and a character breakfast in Hollywood one year, but not all in one day. We spread it out over our trip.
