Not the same at all and I think you know that. After looking over a brief sampling of the Disney on-line comments, there's a nice juxtaposition of:
MSEP: Nostalgia is BS; give us new and updated.
ToT: Nostalgia is everything; new and updated sucks.
Hey ho.
Oh I know it, but the language and arguments were strikingly mirrors to each other. Not the same at all and I think you know that.
Can someone explain something to me? This is an honest question, I'm not trying to be sarcastic.
They apparently needed to cut down on PTN performances to save money. Other than paying all of the people involved in each performance, why else does it apparently cost so much to put on the show each day? I completely understand why it cost so much to create, but other than daily maintenance and paying those involved, what's on the bill?
AND, going off of that point ^ if there isn't any other costs, then wouldn't bringing back MSEP be an even MORE costly decision?? Because technically, MSEP has even more performers, float drivers, stage managers etc. than PTN...and even with all the technical issues that PTN had, no doubt MSEP will require even more attention because according to WDW cast members, it's literally falling apart at the seams...I'm confused.
Once MSEP is over at WDW and later Disneyland. Be sure to visit Tokyo Disneyland since they have an amazing modernize version of MSEP (No relation to PTN since Dreamlights came in 2001).Might as well enjoy it since I'm assuming once it's done with over here, it WONT come back to any park. At least I hope. Maybe they'll at least have the decency to change the drum to read Main Street instead of Disney this time around. Rebuilding a dumbo unit would also be nice, but I highly doubt it. I'm just happy we still get to keep PTN, as far as I'm concern this is more of a bonus.
Does the Live-Action Pete's Dragon count as relevant?Paint the Night is obviously a huge improvement over the Main Street Electrical Parade. It has Frozen, puppets of the Genie, Tigger and Lumiere finally together and a Princess scene with embarrassing cringe-inducing "AAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!" vocal. Trash that dated irrelevant dragon and Alice in Wonderland scene!
I hope they've added a Star Wars float. You with me @raven24
