With the things we've been hearing to me it sounds like it's an entirely new parade. I have no insider information it just sounds like that based on what other people have been saying. I could be totally wrong, but I don't think Anaheim wants sends over any of their parades and the only other nighttime parades are dreamlights (which is never leaving Tokyo) and HKDL PNT which hasn't been used since the pandemic so we don't even know if it's usable.

I do think someone said Dreamlights has a few more years left at least at TDL. @marni1971 said he doesn’t believe PTN is leaving HKDL. So yeah it’s either MSEP, DLs PTN, or a brand new parade. Well and the potential for a partially new or rather upgraded MSEP.

For me, Disneyland has more of a fun, everyday-is-your-birthday atmosphere while MK is more majestic in a “Cinderella really lives here” way, which Spectro complemented well.

I agree. As much as PTN would have been fun and overall something different and new for the MK, it would have not fit in very well. I know those in charge at WDW have not made the best of decisions over the years, but I do think for the most part those in charge of MKs entertainment have kept it majestic. That being said I don’t think they will steer from that with the next nighttime parade.

FOF should be at Full Power...even without Brave. Also, the Trolley Dancers should still be in MK next Monday......if we even see them this weekend with Mr & Mrs Easter Bunny!.....

Oh I never said those in charge have kept MKs entertainment in acceptable condition lol, far from it. MK needs help badly, and in more ways than just entertainment. But what I meant was entertainment theme wise they have kept things majestic rather than upbeat like Disneyland.

I personally like MSEP a lot normal than Spectro. That music was perfect for MK.

Spectro’s music is too solemn to me for a castle park.
Spectromagic's music never felt somber to me. It felt much grander and majestic which really brought more life to the MK during the evening. To this day, I really love how the parade built up Mickey's arrival from a group of trumpeters performing that could be heard miles away (especially in the late 1990s). Then it concluded with a group of Disney Characters all together with multiple units that changed colors. Seeing that parade in person for the first time as a kid gave me chills that modern Walt Disney World is lacking nowadays.

Grander and majestic is certainly how it felt to me. In my mind anyway, the music of SpectroMagic was synonymous with night time in the Magic Kingdom.

Still nice to see it can be heard in the park now and again

Certainly in the Spectro 2.0 camp here, and or weaving bits of the score into a new parade somehow.

I'm fine with a bit more majestic than MSEP and PTN (although I have a soft spot for Baroque Hoedown), but I never could get past the idea that Spectro was a waltz, which is the antithesis of what a parade (musician/marching band experience speaking here) should be. You can also have magnetic and energetic, which I felt Spectro lacked.

A majestic parade in 4/4 time would be fine for me. I think it was @ToTBellHop who alluded to the idea a few years ago that the anthem of the new parade was going to be "Trip a little light" from Poppins Returns. That would be a fantastic hook and could be done in a way that is both majestic and energetic. I'm sure that idea was killed off though....

That was an intentional choice by the people who worked on Spectromagic. The Imagineers (notably Ron Logan) who worked on Spectromagic described the parade "The Anti-MSEP" in terms of parade score and execution. As nice as MSEP (which extends to PTN) can be, they felt the former parade was getting repetitive and wanted Walt Disney World to have an electrical parade of its own.

Skip to 31:48 where Ron Logan discusses the parade

They wanted Spectromagic to really stick out more compared to MSEP which consisted on sections dedicated to Disney Animated Films. Spectro did a unique take since most of the floats were original with a few Disney Animated Films that fitted the parade's honorable tone. It was intended for the parade to have a Waltz since it was the first electrical parade to have an orchestrated soundtrack.

It tells you something when the same Imagineers who worked on Spectromagic later made a spiritual succesor with Fantillusion for Tokyo Disneyland (later Paris) sharing some of the team that worked on Fantasmic.

I remember Spectro mostly going FL to MSUSA, but it’s been a long time.
I remember seeing a few video recordings on Youtube months that actually showed Spectromagic running from FL to MSUSA. Apparently those videos dates back to sometime in the early to mid 1990s (possibly in late 1991 in its earliest incarnation) and early 2000s.
