MSEP ending at Disneyland on Sept 1, WDW return in 2023?

The issue is people expect fireworks from nighttime Disney entertainment and they simply can’t do that and be in compliance with AZA requirements. I am willing to give them somewhat of a pass on that because there is no easy answer to running a zoo and a theme park combined and that’s what they’re doing.

AK’s design also doesn’t lend itself to guest friendly navigation at night IMO.
F! Doesn’t really have fireworks, just a few low level ones. No people expect a night show to end with a flourish. ROL biggest sun was ending with a whimper. It needed the 50ft flamethrower WOC has or something similar (ie quiet so as to not scare the animals) if it had this feature I suspect ROL would still be showing.

ROL was No KiteTales.......... Did AK destroy all the Lotus??????

I feel like ROL overall was a fail with guests because they expected….fireworks. Additionally it never worked right. I don’t like giving them a pass but frankly I just don’t think people see AK as a nighttime park even when they had solid nighttime offerings such as Pandora, the night safari, EE, etc.

They could do a WoC show with drones...

I don’t think drone shows have the panache that everyone else thinks they do. They’re cool for a one-off but I imagine they’d be a nightmare to maintain on a nightly basis.

Oh I know but that old thing needs to be put out of its misery already.
Strongly agree, we all know what happened to the second half of the Pleasure Island unit during it's journey back to Disneyland.

This is true, but there were also fireworks at DHS in some form in the main hub either before or after F! I think the bigger issue overall is they guests have been conditioned since 1998 that AK is not a nighttime park, unlike the other three. They’re fighting 25 years of conditioning outside of the few attempts to put nighttime entertainment into AK and guests have just never warmed to it.

@ToTBellHop from what you have heard are they more a less set with MSEP being shipped to WDW over PTN? I almost think it would be better for them to send PTN to MK since it’s newer and could last longer/be updated. MSEP should just stay at Disneyland, it’s home resort, where it has a better chance of living longer and let’s be honest it would be way easier for DL to fund a brand new parade than WDW. There’s also the fact that DL guests appreciate MSEP more and it’s nostalgia. Last year they fixed the drum to say Disneyland so they’d have to change that yet again. Not that it can’t be easily changed I guess.

they could develop a water, fire, lighting effects, and dare I say even a screen barge something like harmonious or heck even drones at AK. Fireworks aren’t needed, but ROL fell so flat because all the wow moments were done in the first few minutes. The ending was never right.
