According to another site (which I don't think I'm allowed to post the link here) Mr. Spell in Pixar Place has words scrolling across it.

I always thought Mr. Spell should have worked. It guess it was suppose to... why it took so long, I have no idea!?!

This is not an attack on the OP.
I find it sad that WDW is gotten so stale that these are the things we get excited about.
Let's hope that Star Wars Land, Cars Land or hell, even Avatar Land gets built.
Wow us again Disney.

If he is working again, that is excellent.

Haha...remove something because it's popular. Wow.
I thought it was something about the rights to use him but that could've just been a rumor.

That was the rumor because that was the same time Pixar was being sued for using "Luxo" by the lighting manufacturer, but then there were some conversations that operations pulled the plug.

Please! Enough with the strobe light jokes already. Why does the mention of anything broken need to be followed up with a strobe light reference a few posts later. It’s getting old.

I like strobe lights.

Remember the days when anything being added to the parks meant that Stitch was going to be involved? Hehe...good times. BLECH!

Wasn't there a rumor a while ago that space mountain was going to be turned into stitch mountain? I think I saw that once, and I was laughing that they could come up with something that stupid!

I don't think getting excited about details is an indication of WDW getting stale. If the parks were full of projects on every corner we'd still be discussing Mr. Spell, bathrooms, cinnamon rolls, etc. because that what fans do... we discuss and notice details!

Wasn't he removed because Operations said he was causing a problems with the crowd flow?
Edit: Philharmagician beat me to it.

No ... I believe Luxo Jr. was ultimately shelved because of a lawsuit between Disney and the parent company of Luxo, Luxo AS. The animatronic was listed as part of that lawsuit. The settlement wasn't disclosed but my guess is that technical issues aside, you won't ever see him again unfortunately.

I never did hear that rumor (excuse) but I would find that one the hardest to believe. He was at the other end of Pixar Place which isn't nearly as crowded as the entrance. I watched him at least three times on that one trip when he was working *sniff, sniff* and only a handful of people would stop and watch. And even then, it was only for a second! Most people kept on wallking, with a few who looked up and smiled, and a couple (like myself) who actually stayed and watched the whole thing. It was a nice detail to the place and a treat for those who took the time to see it!

I thought that "they" just gave up on it because it was having a few problems! :(
