A genuine masterpiece. Never understood why it never got a lot more love & recognition. Let alone a proper theatrical release. Deserves a lot more praise than it gets.

Since we're mentioning Winnie the Pooh films, I'd like to bring up the 2011 movie too. What a great film! It really deserved to do better at the box office.

Herbie. Deserves more than a section at ALL-STAR Movies. Would love to see an attraction, wouldn't care if it's at WDW, DL, or wherever. And Davy Crockett. King of the Wild Frontier is my favorite, but it'd be easier to do something with River Pirates.

That was an amazing movie for it's time. I still remember the stunning visuals to this day, not the mention the distinct mood of the movie. In my opinion, it was the similar to the mood Dune (84) had.
Did Disney promote the movie in either of their parks at the time? I don't really remember the film's original release, but it seemed like I was encountering various left-over marketing ephemera related to the film well into the mid 80s (old Maximilian toys at garage sales, bubble gum cards, picture books, record albums, etc.) Based on all that lingering junk, it seemed Disney thought they had another Star Wars on their hands and went on a similar licensing bonanza. I would be surprised if they didn't try to tie The Black Hole into the parks somehow.

BTW, I finally saw the movie for the first time on Disney+ earlier this year. I can't say it holds up particularly well, but man, that last shot of Reinhardt in hell might one of the most terrifying visuals Disney has ever produced.
