Movies That Don't Get Any Love

I was watching "Home on The Range" today with my son, and my daughter and I started lamenting the Disney movies that don't get any/enough love in the parks. I've always thought "Home on The Range" would have been a perfect addition to Frontierland, and I would LOVE to see some "Meet The Robinsons" love in Tomorrowland or EPCOT. My daughter always get ****ed that there's not enough "Hunchback of Notre Dame" and Tarzan representation in the parks, too.

What are some of your favorite Disney movies that you'd love to see represented somewhere in the parks?
Last I saw Home on the Range has an easteregg in Frontierland. In the pin store, the name escapes me at the moment, behind one of the registers is a poster demonstrating pin trading using characters from Home on the Range. It is minimal but hey better than some movies I suppose

There's no doubt BTMR would have received a Home On The Range re-theme had the movie been successful. Some of the train/cave chase scenes looked as if they were written strictly for an overhaul of that attraction.

Since I'm a fan of BTMR as it is, I'm grateful the movie bombed hard.

Black Cauldron. It bombed HARD at the box office which is why, and I’m not exactly fond of it at all. Feels more like an early Bluth movie than a Disney movie. but I’m surprised they haven’t tried to revive it at some point. It’s been 35 years, times change. Maybe audiences today would like it. Who knows. I’m just surprised it got representation anywhere, like with the awesome Horned King AA in Tokyo.

I'm pretty sure either the Friar's Nook or Storybook Treats in Fantasyland once had a name, if not exactly a theme, that referenced the Black Cauldron. Given that this was the dark days of both Disney animation and park food, I don't think they served anything particularly special or creative.

Yes, I believe the Friar's Nook was once known as "Gurgi's Munchings and Crunchings" or something along those lines.

I know that Disney and Louis Prima (and his estate) have argued over the use of King Louis over the years, so perhaps that may have complicated any plans for a Jungle Book attraction over the years. Pure speculation, though.

Or, they may have reached an agreement, because King Louis makes a prominent appearance in Disneyland's nightly fireworks show.

The Black Cauldron was based on the Chronicles of Prydain, which I think is still considered one of the best children's/young adult fantasy series ever written -- they're absolutely fantastic. But Disney basically combined the plot of the first two books (with a myriad of changes) into one film and it didn't really work. I know the author (Lloyd Alexander) said he thought the movie was very entertaining as a movie, but that it was basically unrelated to his actual books.

With that said, Disney bought the movie rights to the entire 5 book series a few years ago, so they probably have (or at least had) some plans to give it another shot. I assume they'd throw out the old Black Cauldron animated film and start from scratch, though -- it could be a great live action, five movie epic.

I do believe I remember reading somewhere that Disney was moving forward with a live action Black Cauldron movie.
