Move It! Shake It! to Run at Night

I would rather have an actual night parade that ran for 18 or 20 minutes compared to Movie It Shake It which is 18 or so minutes or a show stop and not what I would call a parade. Heck there aren't even that many floats.

I would rather be 29 years old instead of 39 year old.

But, I can't live everyday moaning that I'm not 29. It won't change the facts.
Point is - MSEP isn't there. So it's not a choice between one or the other. It is a choice to enjoy what's there.
Or...people who loathe it so much can just walk on by.

And if people just accept not having a night parade...... then they will never have a night parade.

I hope the people keep lining up for the parade that doesn't exist, and keep complaining to Disney about it.

I've see a lot of reports on Twitter of crowds lining the streets waiting for a MSEP that is not coming, so is it possible that WDW is trying to appease those waiting around for a night parade by offering something?
Good for them.

I know this is nothing more than conditioned behavior, but if these consumers are disappointed and voice their displeasure, especially framing it as reduced willingness to spend, it will bring this train wreck to resolution quicker.

Yes, we should tell our children "Don't enjoy this parade! Boycott Disney by wrecking your own time in MK! That'll show them!"

Ps. I never saw anyone lining up for a phantom MSEP.

No, I would just let my children enjoy the parade earlier in the day like we always have.
So you're letting them enjoy it at some point. Because living in the moment is better than constantly being angry about something you can't change. Hopefully people can enjoy being at the park as it is now, it doesn't mean that you don't miss something that used to be there. It doesn't make you a traitor. It just makes you a person on vacation having a good time.

LOL, so you think I walk through the parks angry or something? That's funny.

When we go we go with the full expectation of having fun. We are, however, going far less often than before and for shorter trips than ever before.

I have no idea what you do while there. You're the one who chimed in in the "enjoying something (the only option) is accepting mediocracy" bandwagon.

It doesn't matter how much you go.. but, if you want to make a point to Disney, then don't go. People "rolling their eyes" are not making any more of an impact than the people who are choosing to enjoy something. If everyone did that then maybe it would, but it's probably a safe bet that most people would choose having fun ...and dance around with their children, as opposed to rolling their eyes.

Pavlov would be quite pleased with the results Disney has produced.

But you do make an excellent point. When the "treat" is withheld for too long, The salivating dog will loose the trust it has for the person producing the "satisfaction" it receives from the treat, then seek other options. There are also random cases of a dog who will just sit and wait. This is usually a sign of an animal unable to make up its own mind and must be told what to do. The parallels here are interesting.

Make stuff up much?

Could you point me to where I said that?

I think the issue most people have is that they know the company can do better. I think it is great that you enjoy it with your child. Your making lemonade out of lemons, and that is awesome. I dont roll me eyes when I see "Move It Shake It", I sing along with the few parts I know. But when I stop to take a look at it, it just feels underwhelming.

Disney was smart to make a parade that gets the crowd involved because it saves them money on floats and extra CM's and Im fine with that. I enjoyed it the first few years it ran, but it has ran it course. Parades like MSEP and Spectro never get old because there is so much more to them compared to Move It Shake It. (*Judy Dench voice) ===> MSEP and Spectro were grand and miraculous. You could watch them 50 times and still find something new each time. Move It Shake It is clear case of "know when to hold em, know when to fold em".

Why would people wait for a parade that isn't anywhere on the times guides or website ?

c Can't that be done anywhere? I see parents dancing and laughing with their children in public parks too.
The nighttime parade is a big loss.
One the one hand, I dont blame someone for making the best of the situation. On the other hand, when they continue, for years, to have make the bet of the situation, at what point do they ask themselves if they are trying to squeeze blood from a stone? Especially when they are paying good money to do so and the company they are paying is perfectly capable of providing something better.
