A few minor things to report on today...

First off, you can look for a few menu changes coming to Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Boma typically has rotating menu items based on the day in which you arrive, but plans are to reduce those menu item changes in order to cut down on expenditures. Ninety-nine point nine, nine, nine, nine percent of guests will not notice any difference, as you would have to go to Boma for dinner more than once on your trip to even realize the menu items rotate.

Second, another food update: El Pirata Y el Perico Restaurante may soon be a year-round offering at the Magic Kingdom with limited hours of operation rather than a complete shutdown in the "value season." With a few additions coming to Adventureland (i.e. Pirates League), and the continued impressive attendance at the Magic Kingdom, plans are to have the restaurant available to guests for lunch and dinner hours with closings in the afternoon and late evening. During heavy attendance days the restaurant will be open from 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM. The menu is not expected to change.

Finally, the last food update is that Disney is in the final planning stages for introducing a gourmet coffee offering (think Starbucks) at all its theme parks. In the Magic Kingdom, there are three locations planned to receive the new coffee line: one on Main Street, one in Tomorrowland, and one in Liberty Square. Future World, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom will also be receiving the addition, but no details are available for them at this time.

Whew! Can you guess what departments I've been working around lately? And now for you attraction junkies...

The Space Mountain refurbishment is going splendid and the rumors of its cutbacks are greatly exaggerated. There will be audio, there will be new special effects, and the attraction is receiving work around the clock at this point. I haven't been anywhere near it since the work started, but I'm told it's a veritable construction site in there.

Although it's getting much less internet buzz than Space Mountain, the Hall of Presidents refurbishment is AMAZING. Whether or not you vote Democrat, Republican, Green, or write-in Mickey Mouse every time, you'll still want to visit the attraction and be awe-inspired at the meticulous effort that has went into restoring this attraction to a splendor it hasn't seen in some time. Voicework by Morgan Freeman and the current president of the United States is truly just the tip of the iceberg. And did I mention our latest president's animatronic is more technically impressive than Jack Sparrow 3 in PotC?

Last but not least, here's one little tidbit of information about the Monsterss Inc coaster going in at Hollywood Studios, which most of you are aware of...

Disney Imagineering is working with Gerstlauer Amusement Ridesto create a first-of-its-kind roller coaster variety for our new attraction. WDI was going with a more "standard" solution to the theming, but we had one of those very rare change mid-stream decisions... and trust me, it's for the better. The MUCH better.

Fantastic, fantastic, and more fantastic.

First: Pirate! Very happy about that...One of my faves. Mexican is required in AdvL.

Second: VERY happy about the coffee! Nestcafe is just gross and Gourmet Coffee in EPCOT is needed. It would be great just to walk around and drink it all in.:D

Now...Space Mountain. Sheesh. If you are right about this, I have lots of hope for TDO and WDI. I really do. The SSE thing is still very disappointing to me, but doing THIS refurb right could really put Disney back, or closer, to where they were.

HoP: :D

That is all.

Happy about MI, too...

I hope this is all true. Fantastic.

The lessening of the rotating menu makes sense. We never hit the same place twice during our stays.

I am very excited about the coffee. It will be great for the morning when the kids are leading the way... Good call, whoevermade it.

I don't believe anyone outside of the design team and construction management really knows all the specifics of the SM refurb. Message boards tend to be reactionary, which is also why they are fun.

We have heard a lot of chatter now on all the site regarding the Monster's Inc Coaster. I am getting more optimistic that it is actually happening.

I am taking a wait and see approach to all of this... but my attitude is very positive. I am hopeful many good things are on the way.

incredible

Love that SM is a 24 hour a day project. Very wise and makes November seem possible. Love every bit of information you detailed. It's all great news!

I have never been in HOP before, but with Morgan Freeman now narrating I must.

I wish he would narrate a day of my life.

There will be audio,
I will never have been more happy to have received bad info if that is accurate. Still...last I hard was no audio by November. We'll see.

Bizzare choice, if true.
Disney has never worked with Gerstlauer before to my knowledge.
Actually, so far as I know, Gerstlauer has never done an inverted coaster...
They do build a nice ride, though. Anubis looks very nice.

El Pirata all year round?! VICTORY!:slurp:

As for Space, I'm now officially ignoring anything to do with it. All my expectations have been thrown out the window, and I will be idnoring threads that have to do with it. I've heard so much that is/isn't happening I have decided to ignore it and be surprised.

And our Monsters coaster sounds better and better by the day.:D

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I think it might be fun to have each president, from here on out, only get a refurb when they break down. Kind of like a timeline saying "back when he (she?) was president, this was our top-of-the-line AA." I suppose to some extent that's what Disney does, but even if there were an exibit showing what they were capable of in each year or so.
I think that would be nifty.

I like what I'm hearing, especially about SM and HoP. Also, the news about El Pirata is good too. MK has so few food options these days that any eatery that can stay open year round is welcomed. :)

Thanks for the info!
