Most Exciting Disneyland Attractions for Intellectuals

The term intellectual has almost become derogatory. Which is unfortunate, since it really just refers to one who enjoys thinking deeply and logically about things. It’s not about judgment.

It's mostly a self-defined term, which automatically makes it basically meaningless.

I'm pretty sure that anybody regularly passing time on a weekend by posting on "Walt Disney World Magic!" wouldn't pass most people's eyeball test.

The title is already contradictory. Perhaps most discussed attractions? Or most debated attractions. Or most attended attractions. Sorry, the most intellectual debates seem to be at the WDW threads and even then it’s self-defeating. It’s like looking at a contemporary painting. It’s what you think it is.

I’m not a passionate Disney fan, I’m a passionate American historian. But anyone who lives in the United States should love that show.

I can certainly appreciate the Lincoln show within the context of DL history, but in my opinion its way past it's expiration date.

You take this stuff far more seriously than I do, or even the average person visiting DL. I used to have a similar mindset but I came to realize that it's foolish to expect Disney Parks to provide anything more than entertainment for the masses with a dash of nostalgia designed to make us spend spend spend. Lincoln seems silly in today's Disneyland. Maybe move it to the Smithsonian or the Disney Family Museum.

Don't even get me started on Hall of Presidents.

This is the kind of talk I honestly hate. Take the stuff with actual value beyond "oh it's fun" and destroy it.

I'm with you. I can't imagine anyone besides the most passionate Disney fan going to a Disney theme park in this day and age to watch a robotic President Lincoln deliver a speech. The Lincoln show is at least 20 years past its prime.

One year I was there (I go there once a year at most) someone fell asleep two rows behind me. I was just proud of myself that wasn't me....but it could've been...it could've been.

These days if I really want to watch him, there is good ole Youtube. And the best part is I can pause and go get a soda or just switch it off and watch a cat video instead to relieve the drowsiness.

There's a difference between indifference of something that's mentally stimulating and outright hating it. The latter is a trait of stupidity.

Um, how can they be for intellectuals? There's no intellectual property in those rides. Heilmich's Choo-Choo, Inside Out's Emotional Whirlwind, Toy Story Funhouse, Pixie Hollow, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh; those are masterpieces of intellect, and truly the creme de la creme of what Imagineering has to offer.
