My prediction is this will become one of the following:

A) Aladdin character dining
B) family style/ prix fixe menu
C) rentable meeting space/lounge
D)seasonally opened restaurant during peak periods (like for candlelight packages)
E) left to rot/become offices or a break room

As for merch locations Im guessing during Covid they are too hard to manage with multiple entrances/exits and small interiors, so maybe eventually they will rerun when it’s easier to operate. I’m a thinking there’s a lot of cross stock opportunities with merch from DAK.

I think it will continue to operate as a restaurant because they need the capacity. The World Showcase restaurants are mostly booked months out.

I don't expect it will be anything like the previous experience, though.

It's because the centerpiece tower of Morocco a replica of an Islamic prayer tower, and lighting it would be against Islamic tenets.

And the Morocco pavilion is illuminated at night also. Including color washes on the structure during ROE. What it doesn’t have is popcorn lights adorning the structure and neither do the examples in your photos.

This. It’s been illuminated during a show since 1996 as well as general night illumination.

You can illuminate it. Just can’t attach fixtures to it.

Popcorn lights, no, but (a) there are spots at levels on the minarets, and (b) he didn't say "popcorn lighting," he said "lighting."

No sense arguing semantics when it’s clear what was meant. The Morocco pavilion has lighting including “spots at levels.” The issue isn’t illuminating the structure the issue is decorating the structure.
Seriously, I don't think anyone's going to issue a fatwa against WDW for a few light bulbs on Morocco's tower. It's not part of an actual mosque.

Projection mapping did cross my mind. Despite it not providing an actual source of illumination (cough Rise cough)
I don't see any reason why they couldn't. For example, this is being projected on a REAL mosque...

To give the illusion of popcorn lighting it wouldn’t even need to be projection mapped. More the older PICO projector effect.

Since it is not a real mosque and people don't go there to pray, they can do whatever they like with it...it is just a building.
It is just architecture that copies other architecture...
There are no actual consecrated temples in World Showcase....
You don't have to remove your hat to go into the Stave Church.... It is just a building...

Sure they could do it. It’s not that they were tying to avoid a fatwa they are trying to be respectful of religion/culture.

Have you ever noticed what’s different about the figment painting in Morocco during the festival of the arts.
