Yep. DAK has Mickey and friends on a bus for a rope drop, epcot has its countdown with a (real) Test Track car. DHS has a shoot in progress on Hollywood.
At the Epcot rope drop, stand on the right of the main rope (not the rope to the right of the main rope) and watch for a Cast Member named Norm. He :sohappy:is a riot.
I didn't know each of them had one. I only thought MK and AK. We are park comandos but leave a bit later so we have never seen an opening. This year, I made it a point to schedulean early breakfast at CP so we can see the opening of the MK and hopefully wake up Tink. (That's at the store on the back of Philharmagic, right?)
I have seen the following:
MK - the train pulls up to the station with various characters and one family to open the park.
AK - a safari vehicle pulls up with Minnie, Goofy and Mickey - the go through a check list of things not to forget for the day (camping list) - as they drive off they drop the rope.
HS - on the main street of the park they have a small filming crew for entertainment (did not get to see all of this one).
EP - I do not recall seeing anything the last few times I have been there. When they had the characters on holiday bus that was used to welcome you but that is not running any more.
I don't know about the other parks, but when I went down in December, they had re-themed the opening at AK for the holiday, it was very cute and worth getting there early to see.
The Epcot rope drop is a real goose bump one for me. It may not be We`ve Just Begun to Dream but the music and countdown is still awesome. They ditched the character bus under SSE for a much larger show by the plaza fountain.
Just remember to see these on regular park opening days, not morning EMH.
Thanks for all the replys! Everytime I see the MK opening I start to cry-then I look around and almost everyone has tears in their eyes. 20 days and I can't wait!!!!!:sohappy:
I have only seen the MK one and I really enjoyed it. I recorded it in HD and everyone is one amazed by how clear it is and that they never knew that the MK had an opening ceremony.
