More Tree Issues?

Since when should it be the guests responsibility to prevent Disney from getting sued due to lack of maint. and safety checks on Disneys part? If you are so passionate about this then copy and paste the pics in an email and contact Disney yourself. Not trying to be a jerk but what you are asking is for someone who should be having fun and "escaping" from reality to be the safety police for a multi-billion dollar corporation for the sake of you not wanting nets and protecting Disney from not getting sued?

Are you a fanboi? Did I just ask that? Sad....

Gee the poster made a simply suggestion to maybe avoid a problem.......maybe keep someone from getting hurt!

A 1 minute thing!

Yes, its WDW responsibility to do maintenance and safety checks, maybe they have already done so and found its not a issue .

Then your snarky calling this poster a fanboi?

Gee are you and ambulance chaser lawyer? Looking to get work?

No class brother!

So what's hanging from the chains at the end of that branch? Is that load what's causing the cracking? Or is that chain holding the branch up because it's already been discovered? Hard to tell.

Looks very much like a crack due to bending - although most likely just in the decorative "wood" covering. The steel "branch" underneath the fake wood facade is more flexible than what encases it, which causes cracks whenever more movement occurs than expected. I wouldn't worry much about it as an immediate safety issue, although water ingress is definitely a concern in the long term.

I think the chain is holding a potted plant haning from the branch.

Looks like this branch has *serious* problems. Based on my observation:

1. The crack is present in an unflexed position. If we assumed that the wind shook the branch, and that the steel underneath it was flexible, yet return to its normal position, all you should see in the skin should be a hairline crack. I assume this is the unflex, i.e. rest position, if so, then the structural steel has already been bent, i.e. damaged.

2. If you follow the contours of this "limb", it definitely looks like everything distal to the crack is slightly tilted downward. Could have been designed this way, but doesn't look like it from the picture.

What they need to do is use imaging equipment for structural steel and see what's going on.

Well your post was a bit snarky........calling the other poster a *fanboi* after all he did was suggest someone at the park be advised of the branch's condition to prevent a accident and someone possibly being hurt. Your statement leads me to believe your not interested in helping stop someone form being hurt, which leads me to think of the only type of person that would think that way, an *ambulance chasing lawyer* came to mind.

So funny boi.....I stand by me post and opinion.

His post was not in the best interest of guest safety. That was the point of my post. He was more concerned about nets and Disney getting sued OVER guest safety. Lol too bad you can't see that...

Do you think its time for the Swiss Family to exit? Its a good piece of land they could use for something else. What about Jungle Cruise? While I love it, it takes up a BIG area that would house multiple attractions and be cleaner for the environment. I thought the boats used fuel?
Did you just say get rid of Jngle Cruise?

I'm still shocked some of you would be alright with the removal of Jungle Cruise....

For some reason I have never been a fan of Jungle Cruise! I don't care for the corny jokes and the ride itself. I would rather go on a "real safari" down the road at AK!

Idk about taking it down because it is a classic Disney ride and has lots of nostalgia, just not my cup of tea...I do think they need to add a new ride to adventure land though! I was always a fan of the fire mountain rumors, or an Aladdin dark ride would be fun!

There's steel within the cement branches; a crack like this would indicate flexing - there's apparently a heavy planter suspended from it which won't help the matter. Probably cosmetic, but depends on how deep it is... It won't be getting better. Injecting epoxy or hydraulic cement might fix it right up.
