Monsters Inc Laugh Floor Changes

Heh.... I didn't even realize the banners in the queue had been changed. We only got to do the Laugh Floor once when we were there. Not terribly funny, but sometimes you just have to be in the right mood to laugh at the jokes. :)

Just FYI (and not to come off as a curmudgon), the attraction was "If You Had Wings."

Better than Buzz Lightyear? Maybe not. Better than Dreamflight, I thought so.

I loved IYHW. I think as a child it really made my imagination Soar...kinda the way that most people applaud Soarin' after they ride (or at least every time i've ridden it).

Buzz is fun, but I wish the targets were on fully developed animatronics as life like as Jack Sparrow. I know its supposed to be 'toy' stylized so i can't complain. I think it would be awesome though...esp to see some baddies trying to dodge you and such.

maybe in 10 yrs we'll see that in the plussed version?

ps-my joke used at Monster's Inc:

a cast member Thursday morning, Oct. 25, said to me that laugh floor is still in its soft opening and each day cast members come to work seeing something new.

There is a new monster candy dispenser in the pre-show area.

While I agree the new signs look more professional I kinda liked the old ones (although it appears they're all still up anyway... for now). To me it added to the story of Mike quickly turning the scare floor into a laugh floor. I noticed other new signs than the ones that were shown when I went today.

It's also been a few weeks since I was there but it was nice to see all the new changes in animation and sets and EVERYTHING they had. New disolves for Roz, better animated set with the closet doors, the curtain had life (rather than being stiff), every monster had a unique set, and the best part was I saw a new skit (wasn't very funny but got more guests involved). Mac and Jeeves (I always thought it was cheese but it sure sounded like Jeeves today) told us the story of Monsters Inc.

I've also noticed the back rows aren't as safe anymore. The last couple times I went people in the back have been put up on the screen.

In July, during EMH, I saw it twice in a row. Both times it was Comedy in a Box. When Mike's nephew spoke to a kid (Oscar), Oscar was shy and wouldn't speak so he spoke to "Oscar's interpreter" (his Mother). I liked how the actor thought on their feet and didn't let that throw them and when he left, he did a shout out to Oscar.

I so prefer this to Timekeeper. Timekeeper you could see once and then you were finished. You can see this show several times and not get the same experience.

I could see Timekeeper once, then turn right around and seen it again. And I love watching the videos of it I have. Different strokes.
Actually, I felt like Laugh Floor was pretty similar both times I saw it. There were only a few minor changes from the first show to the second, certainly not enough for me to call it a truly different experience. Maybe it will be different on my next trip. Ultimately, I guess I'm just not all that big on the interactive video screen attractions. Disney has done three now and it's starting to already feel overused and stale to me. Perhaps if the technology was incorporated into an actual moving attraction, it might be a little more enjoyable to me - along the lines of the interactive Roz AA in Monsters, Inc. at California Adventure.

I think anyone who thinks this ride is aweful should go ride Stitch or worse yet, Sounds Dangerous...the absolute worse ride ever invented. Even worse than 'South Park's: Line Ride'

Our whole family loved this show! We did it 3 maybe 4 times while were there. I think the new signs look great.

As for Crush, I don't think there is that much variety. Crush can improvise off the questions and situations presented to him, but as far as I know, he'll do mostly the same skits. I've only seen it a couple of times and haven't seen that much difference. I'm not sure if they do more though.

Monster's Inc. was purposely designed to be different. I've seen a handful of different skits that monster's perform. Rumors are that Disney is still desining new skits.

I've read in the Mickey Monitor once that the monsters in the show may show up as a different color in one show, and there is the possibility of a fourth monster appearing. :)

i saw the same skit at the laugh floor the 3 or so times i went when it first opened up...so maybe they were just working things out then

And looking at this I can see how easily a friendly Alien theme would have worked into the theme of the land even better. An Intergalactic Alien Comedy Club. The "Monsters" are sort of Alien looking anyway. Think a computer animated Plectu's Galactic Review with a Comedy Club theme thrown in.

Instead this cheap character cop-out route was taken. The absolute destruction of the TL theme that happens with this show will always make this show hard for me to enjoy.

I agree. Im one that usually slams this attraction, but I have to say that I have only done it once. For it to be an interactive show that showcases variety each visit, I should atleast try it a couple of more times before I truly slam it or say what I have been saying about it. I think that the new stuff in teh que, is an added plus, and it somewhat makes its transition into tomorrowland alittle better. I like how they call it the Tomorrowland's Expo Center now, instead of its TK name. (The tta may implement the new name and stitch's name in it if it goes down when SM goes down, just a thought)

One major problem I have with the show, wasnt really it not fitting in TL, I mean the tech for this is good, and like someone else said it could have been used differently instead of the movie tie in, but my major problem was how poorly it was executed. I mean, the actually show defeated the purpose of the title, its suppose to be a comedy club, and I didnt laught at all, to me nothing was funny it was just corny. I understand that its not really geared toward someone my age, and that its difficult to be family friendly and funny, but that just gives me more of a reason to not see it anymore. But I never know, my first ToT trip I didnt like it(didnt hate it like MILF, but just didnt like it) and after I rode it again, I loved it, so maybe I should give it another go, to see the variety aspect of it instead of the comedy, because imo there wasnt any. And As of now, I enjoy Stitch more than MILF, but Sounds Dangerous I have to agree is much worse and probably the stupidest "show" on property.

That is definately true. Laugh Floor isn't done yet, last time I went they were experimenting with new set pieces and backgrounds during the show, and everytime I've seen the show, the WDW reaserch team is right at the exit.
