I wish everyone on Twitter would see this so I stop seeing the "Why is Disney leaving Animation Courtyard abandoned!" comments. 🤪
IKR those tweets are starting to get out of hand.

Like it’s the fake outrage for me. 😂

People only care now because it’s leaving and typical fashion the fandom comes out in droves to act like they were doing this attraction every time they go to the parks.

Disney is leaving Animation Courtyard abandoned. It has been abandoned for years and will remain abandoned for years. Amorphous plans to do something, maybe, years in the future does not change this in the slightest.

Or maybe they genuinely love the attraction and your devotion to a brand is causing you to assume people are liars.

You do have a point for some of the attractions closing now, and some in the past. Not ALL of them.

I’m pretty sure Muppetvision has always had a cult following, i dont think the fans are coming out of thin air. And the riverboat and river was always “a nice thing to have”, nobody really thought they would actually go before it happened.

That being said, as much as i think DINOSAUR is cool, MOST of the same people who are crying fowl about Dinoland it were NOT there pre-pandemic and and pre d23 2022. and i dont think anyone cared about mk TSI before the closing. I dont doubt they had its fans, but not at this level. There is some revisionism i feel on some of the attractions that have closed recently and in general.

I do agree with you, but until the project is actually greenlit and work starts AC will probably sit abandoned for a few years until after work starts on Monsters. They should have delt with AC first than muppets imo but they've decided to go the other way around.

This assumes the work was done for the Monstropolis project. It wouldn’t be the first time local work has been quickly undone by a new project.
The announcement says the permit for work was filed earlier this week so they would have known the timeline for Muppets closing. Unless the work is just to remove the structure or it’s being reused somehow during construction.

Many people did go to muppets everytime they visited the park.

But I don’t need to go on an attraction to appreciate it - walking by Maters junkyard jamboree always makes me smile - but I think I’ve only ridden it once. Same with dumbo, tea cups etc.

You know what I don’t experience and don’t care about? Launch Bay and the Disney Jr. dance party.

These comments are disappointing because they come from people who should know better. A big part of the reason why there is so much time between Disney announcing a project and it opening is because Disney typically makes their announcements very early in the design process. Any plans that exist today would be even earlier in the process and before the Feasibility stage that results in the determines if the project is actually moving forward.

It’s still an embarrassing bad show and will most likely be abandoned for the next decade.
Maybe not quite a decade. Announced projects have projected openings out 5 or 6 years so there’s a possibility if this ends up next in line it’s part of the second half of the current 10 years of projects. It’s still years away but hopefully won’t sit vacant past 2036. That’s probably too glass half full for some but I said possibility not certainty.

I can agree with most of this post.

While I am sure some on X are uninformed and unreasonable, the issue is 100% the order of operations, especially for a park that both lacks capacity and has a prominent central area that is largely abandoned.

Hey I love Dinoland! Have since I was like 6 years old maybe younger! (I am mostly positive on the tropical Americas project)

The way I’m coping with the choice of closing muppets instead of animation courtyard is twofold 1. Disney has plans to move muppetvison 3d to the sunset showcase after unfairly ever after closes 2. There are more substantial plans for animation courtyard in the early 2030s Zootopia is what I keep hearing but personally with the rumor that might be getting rid of marvel superhero island that they put it off until then and make a whole New York land there imagine the shawarma palace replaces the Disney junior theater Walt Disney presents expands back and becomes a d-ticket ride the mermaid theater becomes home to Rogers the musical and finally launch bay becomes the entrance to a E-ticket ride housed in none other than avengers tower maybe finally bring to life the discarded concept from California adventure ?

I've not seen any reliable insider back up any of these wishes except that 'something' is happening in AC 'sometime' in the future.

Also, get your return key fixed. :p
