DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

And did the board agree or disagree with him?
The board agreed with Iger but I am not sure where you are going with this.

Shareholders have the final say on who is on the board, CEO, if compensation packages get approved, vote on resolutions, etc. If they don't want you on the board or as CEO, you are done. Eisner is a great example of this. He got booted because shareholders initiated a proxy fight and voted to remove him.

I think more than a “small amount of visitors” meet the characters.

That's not what I said. What percentage of the visitors who meet the characters would have any kind of especially memorable experience based on stuff they did in the land? Hardly any. It's not like people get to have a 5-10 minute chat.

Again, in an ideal world with infinite budgets, absolutely do this. Even if it only actually does anything for maybe 5% of daily guests, that's still a nice positive. But they don't have unlimited budgets, and there are better ways to spend the money to enhance the experience for a larger percentage of guests. The originally planned roaming droids (or even just droids moving around in places where guests can't touch them) would be better, for example.

Oh…. I didn’t realize you were talking about specific things the technology could do… I was thinking of the technology in general.

Yeah, I think the tech behind what they originally planned is there. I don't see an issue with it from a tech standpoint.

I just think on the scale involved, it wouldn't really lead to great experiences for guests. Maybe a few scattered here and there, but not something that would move the needle for most visitors.

After monetization via Galactic Starcruiser, I think the creep factor might have had more to do with not incorporating the interactivity more than scaling issues. Story Engine is an impressive bit of technology.

People don’t like it when someone they don’t know knows something about them, especially their recent movements. More so when it is about their children. Cast Members knowing about guest activities and plans was supposed to be a big part of Next Gen. There was some very limited testing of this and people did not like it.

This is a true mystery. Now that the whole area will be closed by June why would they spend any money on this structure? I can’t imagine there would be any way to access it once the Muppet area shuts down. Maybe they plan to use it for construction staging area or something. It’s also right in the middle of where I think the Door Coaster building would start.

Maybe they'll paint it 'go away' blue...?

This assumes the work was done for the Monstropolis project. It wouldn’t be the first time local work has been quickly undone by a new project.

Maybe it could be used for testing paint color or they're going to reuse it somehow?

That's my beef in all this. Yea I'm a Muppets Homer, full admittance. But this is about having space that isn't being utilized. I see no reason muppet vision needs to go. And because it's easier to put it in the Muppets instead of having to relocate some offices isn't valid. It's supposed to be about the guest experience. It's the same issue with cars. Once you have used all the space, then come to me with removing Muppets or RoA...
I will say, I understand why they don't want Monsters in AC. That is a large area, and it is wasted with a small land like Monsters. Maybe they could expand it if it went there, but I don't think they had any desire to announce another major land after they already committed to several other large lands, so expanding it wasn't in the cards either. I think the real issue is that they committed to a large expansion at the one park that is not desperate for it (despite how cool Villains could be). The Villains-level land needed to go in AC, and Monsters and Villains announced 3-4 years later. But, we are where we are now. I am beyond skeptical that anything is going into AC in the next 10 years, and that is where my issue with this really lies.

Didn’t insiders state something else is planned for AC ?

I wish everyone on Twitter would see this so I stop seeing the "Why is Disney leaving Animation Courtyard abandoned!" comments. 🤪
IKR those tweets are starting to get out of hand.

Like it’s the fake outrage for me. 😂

People only care now because it’s leaving and typical fashion the fandom comes out in droves to act like they were doing this attraction every time they go to the parks.

Disney is leaving Animation Courtyard abandoned. It has been abandoned for years and will remain abandoned for years. Amorphous plans to do something, maybe, years in the future does not change this in the slightest.

Or maybe they genuinely love the attraction and your devotion to a brand is causing you to assume people are liars.
