News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

This is like the rumours of the Nintendo Switch 2 being delayed when Nintendo hadn't announced when they were releasing it.

When did they say we should expect news of where they'd build it this year even? It's only stalled if you think the timeline we've invented here is the one Disney are using, which clearly it isn't.

The only indication we have of uncertainty within Disney is the rush of conflicting information we got from insiders which still wouldn't mean anything as we were shown two conflicting concepts so nothing from Disney has suggested a specific location at the time of announcement nor a timeline for construction to begin.

Just chill, wait for the news, react to it then...
To be honest I cant remember what Josh said about the timeline of this at D23 (not that anything that was said there matters anyway as it can change).

But you're right. Maybe they wont destroy Muppets and I am worried over nothing.

The MuppetVision is closing but we’ll soften the blow by converting HOP thing feels off to me.

If the Muppets (as owned and stewarded by Disney) were popular enough to justify the costs involved in converting HOP, we wouldn’t be having this discussion as MV wouldn’t be on the chopping block and it’s shop long closed.

Now, it’s possible one justification for converting HOP is to remove the supposed divisiveness of the pavilion, and Muppets are anodyne enough to do that. I don’t know new AAs of Muppets* would be any more expensive than the development and maintenance of all the human figures.

* I guess they could have a few AAs and make the rest of the attraction screen based
The only thing that could even be considered divisive would the the current president's speach portion....which they could easily cut and maintain the rest of the show ending with the presidential Roll Call... It is a beautiful and inspiring attraction...One I sincerely hope they will not add the Muppets to... And I like the Muppets... Just as I would prefer Snow White not be added to the Tower Of Terror, or Donald Duck to Spaceship Earth.

Back to Monsters…. I really wish we could have had the pre-Iger expansion plan for DHS. Monsters right next to the old Midway Mania entrance in the Pixar Studios area would have been really fun.

Rise next to Star Tours with Indiana Jones making a “Lucas Studios” area.

A muppet dark ride and an area for live muppet performances and interactions.

So much potential!!!

My only thought: what if Monsters can utilize a smaller footprint but say Zootopia cannot and that is why they are saving AC. I do not want to lose Muppets but would appreciate two new expansions over one.
Or they could do better with their planning. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to two of the largest lands and both are lacking in content. Toy Story Land is so poorly designed it had to be expanded to add needed dining space.

I dunno, I think SWGE is pretty cool despite the flaws.
As for your mentioned “muppet dark ride”, I’d love the great muppet movie ride, but tbh my real (yet completely impossible for multiple reasons) dream would be for a land with Sesame Street and the muppets (maybe fraggle rock if they had room), basically a “celebration of Jim Henson” land from backlot express cafe all the way to muppetvision. Probably gonna make a post in the imagineering forum about it lol, even though it’s impossible, damn you seaworld lol, one can dream….

Eisner era imagineering was the best and I stand by that. (Well, not the dca/late stage part but you know what I mean)
I just felt like the Magic Kingdom was stagnant for so long under Eisner. It was terrible. Yes we got Epcot but even that felt underdeveloped under Eisner. People like to think that he was good to the parks but I don’t quite remember it that way.

I’ll give him Splash Mountain but that it for MK.

Ok, I was a bit overzealous, lemmie reword it.
Yes Eisner era wasn’t perfect. When it was bad, it was a big old stinker, but when it was good, it was really freaken good. While he wasn’t the best at long term plans for whole parks, but i think his individual attraction additions are some of the best ever. I mean, splash mountain, tower of terror, Indiana jones adventure, star tours the great movie ride, muppetvision 3.D., soarin, the list goes on.
He also gave us animal kingdom. That alone is worthy of praise (even if it wasnt finished lol)

What was terrible about the Magic Kingdom at any point in time?

Epcot opened 1981, Eisner became CEO in 1984. Epcot has never been underdeveloped since opening day.
Terrible was the wrong word. As I said It was stagnant in the 80’s and all the way up until Splash was built. Even Epcot went along time before it got anything new. There were not a lot of new attractions. I also felt that he could have done more with Epcot. He just let things sit in my opinion. That’s how it felt growing up.

It was still a nice water feature and they added the little mermaid splash pad and meet n greet. It’s a shame they couldn’t have done a little mermaid attraction with the submarines somehow.
I kinda think us getting NFL in the 2010s and then a whole villains land now was the best timeline for the whole “what replaces 20k? Maybe villains?” Saga

Magic Kingdom wasn't as stagnant as you claim. Spectro Magic opened as a night time parade under Eisner.

Tiki Room was changed to Enchanted Tiki Room under new Management. Alien Counter opened under Eisner. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin opened under Eisner. Mickey's Toon Town Fair opened under Eisner. That land was first known as Mickey's Birthdayland and was opened under Eisner. Before Eisner created that land, it was unused land.

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin opened under Eisner. Mickey's Philharmagic opened under Eisner also. Before that show opened, Legend of the Lion was previous show and was opened under Eisner.

My point is Eisner new lands and new attractions, but it seemed liked you didn't like what he opened. The 20,000 leagues under the sea closed and not replacing it was indeed a big screw up.

I was a young kid back then, everything you mentioned were small scale projects. Those weren’t D or E level type rides. Those were mostly B-C tickets from a budget point of view.
