What if that came with a higher ticket cost??? Is riding a monorail gonna return enough satisfaction, or would multiple high-quality rides be better?

...the busses and monorails are high quality?

i was talking more along the lines of convenience

AHAH!!!! tell me honestly that the average person wouldnt enjoy direct monorail service to the theme parks

It wouldn't be direct. They'd have to do loops and transfers to make it even remotely affordable.

As I said previously in this thread, one of the most common complaints at WDW is that guests have to transfer to get from the MK resort loop to Epcot. They just don't like it. I can't blame them, it is a huge time waster. Imagine having to do it for every park.

Now imagine you are a family with 2 or 3 young children, exhausted at the end of the day. All they want to do is get back from MGM to Port Orleans Riverside and sleep. However, they have to get on the monorail, then go to the "new Transportation and Ticket Center #2" (which services MGM and AK). Then they have to transfer to the "Moderate Resort Loop" which first makes stops at Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans French Quarter, and finally Port Orleans Riverside.

Finally they are back at their resort. Unfortunately, they are at the front of the resort, and their room is in the back, near where "South Depot" used to be for the busses. So they have to walk all the way to the back of the resort, with three tired kids. Unfortunately, the great idea of monorails everywhere didn't consider that busses make multiple stops at the spread out resorts, for the guests' convienance.

Total travel time? Two hours plus. All because monorails are so great. :hammer: :brick:

no i comment when i see contradictions in what people say

for instance saying its unaffordable.

disney can afford it hands down whether it would give a great return or not they can afford to build it
Let me jump in and help you out. I'll try to keep it simple because I've noticed in this thread that you have trouble grasping basic concepts.

This topic has been discussed in extreme detail a gazillion times. Many of us have already enjoyed this heated topic far to many times. Thrawn does not have to explain anything to you since he provided a multitude of links to previous threads where I'm sure he's back his ____*t up.

You only seem to want to instigate around here and antagonize long time, valuable, contributing members. You have given absolutely nothing in backing up your points and yet you insinuate Thrawn won't back up his point, even though he has backed up his point on this topic more times than any of us care to remember.

I suggest you get back to your homework and finding a prom date and stop trying to stir it up. Enough is really enough... :D

And maybe now you understand why we don't like discussing monorail expansion anymore? Which is why I said take the time to lurk and see how things work.

Theres nothing wrong with liking it. Its one of those "Disney" moments as it pulls past the front of MK, and through Epcot. But it just isn't the best idea for WDW anymore. If the whole property had been designed around it, things would be different, but busses are going to be WDW's main transport for the forseeable future.

We can have a PM/LIM style transport, but it would have logistics that wouldn't be feasible. BUT, you can say this at any type of transportation idea, except buses. They all have flaws. However, buses will inevitably be much more expensive or will gridlock the resort (which mean spending money on a new transport sys. or new roads {which aren't cheap})

Consider this, Disney considers a new transportation system. The figure if they build it to the lowest builder, it wil cost 900 million to 1 billion. They weigh the options, we can follow the simple rule of economics if it is easier for people to travel from MK to MGM, then they will want to go to MGM too, and spend money on another ticket or a park hopper or a magic your way. Disney might see financial gain in the long term if they change their view of immediate return, to future return and long term investments.
