Just a thought, perhaps they've turned on moderated mode for posters with less than a certain number of posts, that would allow control over a lot of the posters who join just to advertise websites.

I'm not sure, but it would explain why a poster with 11 total posts was having the issue while those of us with, um.... more than that aren't.

MontyMon is right. There is protection for amounts of posts new users can post at a time un moderated.

I reviewed your posts, and I think you got the message because you were basically only posting photos stored on a commercial website, which triggered the spam detector.

Ah, yes I've been a long time lurker but since I finally got a camera started participating in the Photo of the Day thread.

Is it possible for it to not do this to me when I post on the pictures thread? Or is there some post threshold i have to reach before it stops moderating my posts.

Well it was fine for a while, but it moderated my post this morning when I attempted to post my picture of the day

Quick question: Did you include some text with the photo? I think that's the difference, the earlier pics you posted [when you first asked if the forums were moderated] had no text added, just the html codes for the pics, the last few [which you indicate worked 'for a while'] had text in addition to the pics.

Perhaps the automated spam blockers want some personal input other than just the html? :shrug:

Exactly. As I mentioned, he was just posting a link to a commercial photo hosting website, which is "read" as spam. Adding a comment made it look like a post, not an ad.

I would agree but I am posting comments with my pictures now, and did on the one that got moderated, so that doesn't make sense.
