I think it has more to do with people realizing the original Frozen was just okay and not the greatest thing ever.I actually think it did, if only a little. It (and the related fast, cheap theme park attractions) took a generational cultural phenomenon and turned it into Another Disney Musical. We'll see if this is true, or if it matters, when Frozen 3 comes out.
While not the greatest thing ever, it was head and shoulders above the sequel, and a very strong musical film all round.I think it has more to do with people realizing the original Frozen was just okay and not the greatest thing ever.
we were surprised how well that movie did when it came out. we watched it the night before it & there were only 8 people, us included, in the theater. we also thought it was mediocre & it would flop. a billion dollars later, we were very wrong.I think it has more to do with people realizing the original Frozen was just okay and not the greatest thing ever.
I didn't hate the movie or anything but I remember how marketing called it "The best since The Lion King" and it wasn't anywhere near as great as the '90s films, especially not The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. I mostly thought that the songs were okay, a little bit too pop in my opinion compared to the more traditional style of Menken (has anyone noticed how some of the songs just abruptly ended?), but I thought it was weird how the first 30 minutes were a musical and then the rest of the movie only had two awkward songs, one of which was sung while the main character was literally dying.we were surprised how well that movie did when it came out. we watched it the night before it & there were only 8 people, us included, in the theater. we also thought it was mediocre & it would flop. a billion dollars later, we were very wrong.
Except people really wanted to see Frozen 2. They even made jokes about when it would come out in Ralph Breaks the Internet. There is no pent up energy for Moana 2.Yeah and Frozen 2 has 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and that still did strongly.
I honestly don't know why you think that. Moana is literally one of the most streamed movies and it constantly trended in the top 10 on Disney+ ever since the service was released in 2019.Except people really wanted to see Frozen 2. They even made jjokes about when it would come out in Ralph Breaks the Internet. There is no pent up energy for Moana 2.
What else is there to watch on Disney+? How many times can anyone watch Moana unless you are under 5.I honestly don't know why you think that. Moana is literally one of the most streamed movies and it constantly trended in the top 10 on Disney+ ever since the service was released in 2019.
I’m really surprised you’re doubling down on the view that Moana 2 won’t be a blockbuster despite everything indicating otherwise.Except people really wanted to see Frozen 2. They even made jokes about when it would come out in Ralph Breaks the Internet. There is no pent up energy for Moana 2.
Is there really no pent up energy for Moana 2 though?Except people really wanted to see Frozen 2. They even made jokes about when it would come out in Ralph Breaks the Internet. There is no pent up energy for Moana 2.
Is that you, Pro?What else is there to watch on Disney+? How many times can anyone watch Moana unless you are under 5.
Yeah totally disagree on this. Moana is still the most watched every year. And you can say "What else is there to watch." Well, there's Frozen. There is almost every other movie that has come out by Disney. It's the top, that's not nothing. It might be 5 and under watching it non-stop, but that doesn't mean every parent isn't ready to take their 5 year old to see the movie right away.Except people really wanted to see Frozen 2. They even made jokes about when it would come out in Ralph Breaks the Internet. There is no pent up energy for Moana 2.
What makes you say that? It started playing in my local cinema on Tuesday, and there’s nothing to stop “ordinary” viewers—families with kids, etc.—from seeing it.Given this first wave of viewers clearly consists of superfans
I will say historically, it's usually the much larger level fans that would go on a Tuesday/Wednesday night to see the "Previews". Most of the people who work/have kids with school/sports/etc. will wait more for the weekend unless they are just that excited for it. No, nothing stops people from going on a Tuesday, but it takes a lot more commitment to find that time. What makes you say that?
