MNSSHP - Headless Horseman falls

Wow I was at the party and did hear any talk of this. My wife and I missed the first parade but when lining up for the second parade I asked a CM about the headless horse man and was told he wouldn't be riding for that parade. I'm glad they both got through it without any major injuries.

It has been a wetter than normal fall (although what is normal with weather these days is certainly debatable) and I heard that it has rained at some point in every MNSSHP this year, a few were washouts, including last week when I was at HHNs.

My guess is Disney is trying to avoid as many refunds as possible and putting on as much entertainment as they can. I can't fault them for that ... but one has to wonder if having a horse running down the parade route when it has rained earlier is really that smart.

Ichabod's Revenge!

Here's a video (2 part) of the aftermath, with the horse trotting ahead. I'm suprised the rider doesn't have more of a limp.

That was a rough fall!

Disney hires some of the best animal people around. This was an unfortunate accident. I'm sure all safety issues are in place to make sure the horse is not easily spoked and that his shoes are appropriate for the type of run he does. They are very strict with the crowds when he is about to do his ride and all CMs on the path know what to do in the unlikely event of a mishap. You can see how quickly the CMs jump into action to get the situation under control and I applaud them for that. Also the rider would have never rode off on the horse had he thought something was wrong.

I watched the video in the other thread of the fall and it was quite a shock. I just hope the horse is okay. It looked like it was too slippery for him to be out there! (Oh and I hope the horseman is okay too, naturally!)

Quietly gave free 1 day-admission to the park for guests who stood in line at Guest Relations last week.

In all fairness, no first parade and candy stations weren't opened until about 9pm.

So, for the first two hours, the MNSSHP was... colored lights on Main St? Those really cool CM costumes?

It's not like it's unusual for it to rain during/near a party... I'm surprised that they don't at least have a way to cover the candy troughs.
