MM+ Why we can't have nice things.

Yes, but they didn't say machines, the said "permits". Here is their post on Facebook:

"Hundreds of permits were recently approved to remove all legacy FASTPASS machines. We're slowly getting there..."
I wonder if each individual machine would need a permit. And the more I thought about it they probably meant permits in the hundreds, not hundreds of permits.

Lets face it girls of ANY age like princesses and Disney capitalizes on this, But in the past Disney focused on the 8-14 demographic, To be fair under-10 is probably a better descriptor of the market but I maintain that my basic point of WDW and TWDC is heavily skewed toward little kids and even the kids in my extended family state "Disney is for little kids, Universal has the cool stuff"

To complete the irony Universal was advertising on Disney XD!!!!

And to complete this look at the old Mickey Mouse Club - My dad admitted to having a crush on Annette Funicello, when he was 16. Look at the characters on the disney shows all much younger shooting for once again the under 10 crowd.
I would agree with this. Of course kids today grow up so fast. Kids today are doing stuff at 10 or 11 that we did as 14 year olds. I think the kid focused market Disney is in is much broader than the Universal market. That's probably why Universal's latest expansion is focusing on more "kiddie rides". Focusing on Tweens to teens has limited growth potential. Teens are generally bad customers with less disposable income and more of a desire to loiter without spending.

Oh please there is no conspiracy theory here, Just observed artifacts of very poor system design and implementation

You always leap to worst case scenario... what we see here is a workaround until they get the changes needed.
Your point about needing to add a 1-Day ticket speaks to bad design, Backend should be able to synthesize a validity condition without needing to create 'phantom tickets' in customer database.

It points to defects - and a workaround. Your comment about what SHOULD be done.. obviously doesn't happen when one is dealing with defects. Hence why they are defects.

White bread is what's killing us all - not Pudding Pops.
Who can we sue?

For the amount of time and treasure expended there should not be workarounds at this level in a PRODUCTION system. This system is at alpha test standard for software.

Just read on Twitter that OTPN is reporting that hundreds of permits were recently approved to remove all Legacy FastPass machines.
Not that I ever thought otherwise, but it would appear we are stuck with FP+. Ugh!

There was no doubt of this from the beginning this is one of those systems which was going in whether it worked or not.

I thought someone around here reported AP holders now had full access (3 FP+ a day, all year)? I'm not an annual passholder, though, so I didn't pay as much attention as I could.
I can confirm your thoughts. I am an AP holder and was able to make FP+ selections for today. I used the MDE app, chose today's date, chose EPCOT for a park. Looks like I'm riding Soarin @ 11:10-12:12 today.
One caveat. I stayed on property last month. Odds are this is a prerequisite in order for me to do this right now. I doubt I'd have the ability to do so without previously using Magic Bands and all in the parks. However, it's good to see the potential for same day selections is there for AP holders.

Yeah it is only working for AP holders who have stayed on property.

Dusty Sage from Micechat is responding to the sites report of the Nemo Subs not coming back when it closes (I believe) this week. The lagoon would be drained by his accounts, as budgets have been slashed. It's all because of the 1.5 billion spent on MM+. He is saying that there is currently a bloodbath going on at Imagineering, people losing their jobs, and lots of finger pointing over MM+. He stated that tongues are wagging, and I hope that means Micechat is gathering up some good dirt for a future article.
Someone else commenting on the subject said that KTLA did a negative piece on MM+, concerned about privacy issues.

The privacy blowback begins, Disney's lack of transparency is going to bite them HARD, TWDC could have avoided if they had been more upfront with location data usage and/or created a 'Where is my Party' function just lile BOOST mobile allows you to find your designated buddies.

With this coming on top of new NSA tracking tools for iPhones and the like it's not going to be pretty.
