I hope someone is there today who can post pictures of the insanity. I imagine the park full of guests, shoulder to shoulder, from the main gate all the way to the back. Guess it's like Bourbon Street on Mardi Gras day, without the vulgarity and alcohol induced drunkeness.

A pic would be nice. There has to be someone on the 'inside' or who knows someone that can get a current pic. anyone?

This isn't, or shouldn't, exactly be shocking to anyone.

MK always fills up on NYE. It would be much more newsworthy if in fact they stayed at say Phase 1 all day.

That said, Reedy Creek came in a few years back and significantly lowered the 'magic' number of what is allowed capacity wise. You can blame attraction, shop and restaurant closings for that as the MK can't suck down people like it once did. Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised if they took the sheer volume of strollers and ECVs on the walkways into account when dropping capacity.

Still, the only park I'd ever consider going to these days on NYE is EPCOT because it was built to handle (and does) a tremendous amount of people ... even on Millennium NYE I didn't feel the place was too packed to safely enjoy at all. All those huge walkways and all that space means it can pack the people in ... they'll do so again today/tonight I'm sure.

Oh, I'd also suggest that Fastpass likely played a factor in reducing MK's capacity since you have huge queues like Space Mountain's that often aren't used (or used as they were designed) and thus spit people out on to the walkways.

MK closed to ALL guests, Phase 4 closing
Ya but there ways around it you come from other Disney Theme parks, also Premium Pass Holders can't get through so can Disney Cast members , and people work or stay Disney's Deluxe Resorts can get in. I know because I done that several times at Magic Kingdom.

Phase 4 closing is for ALL guests regardless of where you arecoming from, at Phase 4 the park is absolutely at its safety capacity. What you are describing is Phase 1, 2 or 3. You may have experienced a 1,2,or 3 closing.

I can only imagine, and that's all I want to do, how nuts it'll be tonight with all those people trying to leave the parks at once. Anyone know any wait times for standby today on the more popular attractions?
