But of course. Only the best for you :D
I recently re-watched all the extras.

I avoided watching them at all until almost two years ago, I loved the books so much...I really have to think of the books and movies as totally seperate entities...

Have you read any of the Rift War saga by Raymond E Feist? That's the fantasy series I really enjoyed reading.

Tolkien is good, even more so knowing he was trying to create a mythology for the UK, but for those who found it heavy going Feist is a much easier read.

Yeah, I just never got into Tolkien. Call me crazy.
I'll be the first to admit that LOTR is not an easy read. I failed on my first attempt. I did not get past the introduction, it read too much like a school history text book.

On the second attempt I skipped the introduction and went straight for the story and found that a lot easier. Though having the whole thing in one large edition made it too heavy to read in bed.

I've since read it a couple more times, but in three individual paperbacks.

5 more months and you magically start behaving in a mature manner?!
I'm still wondering when I'll start behaving in a mature manner :D

Actually the GF can get thrown off kilter by me. One minute I'm acting like a twelve year old, the next I'm being "too grown up". :D

I saw the first movie and thought it was pretty good, so (not making a wise dcision), I attempted The Two Towers. To no avail.

I'm not really much a fan of the books or movies. *shrug*

The extended cuts are much better than the theatrical versions. They fill in a lot of holes and expand the characters.

My GF had only seen The Two Towers at the cinema and hated it. But she decided to sit through the extended DVDs, and much to her surprise found that she really enjoyed them.
