Great! Sounds like you are in a chipper mood.
um...you could say that. :D

They have started working on my hardwood floors today, so I will actually be living in my house sometime next week! :sohappy: (I'll have pics, don't worry!)

Other than that, I'm bored outta my mind at work. I have one order to work on...which my intern can do when she gets here today and I have a wedding that needs to be worked on, but I don't have the images on cd yet...and I can't do that myself because it's gotta be taken from the negatives. So...that kills that.

Oh...and hi my Dottie!!!

Hiya Dot! Off to lunch, be back in a bit!

Excited yet??? How is your morning?

Oh...and hi my Dottie!!!

Hi Steph, Rick and my Nibblies!
Yes, I am getting very excited.
Sooo tired, but the excitement takes the edge off that.
I was asleep before 8:30 last night, but when the alarm went off at 4:00 I felt like I'd only been asleep about 10 minutes. It's been a looooong morning!
But now I'm just doing laundry and then I will finish packing and I'll be done.

Nibbs. . .Yay for the floors! :sohappy:

Wood floors, that is next on our list of things to redo. I am scarred to death of the cost though and have considered trying it myself. I've done Pergo before but not real wood.
So, Nibbs are you a photographer?

Taylor Hicks STINKS!!!

You stink! :p

For P&P in 9 days! And for the summer, in 4 months.

:fork: At least you're going down soon. :( I have to wait 9 months! But I do have permission to plan a trip down there! :D

Well I was in shorts and a T-Shirt today, if that helps at all

You can live vicariously through me.

:fork: You are a mean, mean person! There is snow on the ground here!

Uhh... low 60s

There's a high of 70 today. Do think that's too warm to wear a sweater? A light one I mean.

A sweater?! You are a wimp! :lookaroun

I might add that I am truly impressed that you, Rick, our token married man, are truly amazing. Not too many spouses of your gender consider Valentine's gifts any time before the 13th of February!

I agree...you are amazing.

Although what's his face has said he's got something in mind for Valentine's Day...and he's had it in mind for a year. I don't know if he's lying or what...but at least he's got an idea.

But Rick, it is definitely amazing that you are putting such great thought into this. I definitely like the idea of sending her to get pampered and then taking her to dinner. Very romantic.

I hate those kind of vacations. - " What do you want to do today? I don't know, what do you want to do? Well maybe we can do this...no, I don't want to do that.etc. etc."

Aargh!!!

Those are frustrating. It's like...somebody decide something or we'll be sitting here all day and get nothing accomplished.

peeks in before I rush off for the day.....

Will meet up with Bunny and Marc early tomorrow morning to do MGM. We were going to do AK, but Nemo is dark and that is one of MJ's most favorite things to do...so no AK tomorrow.

I'm feeling kind of cruddy today, but we have an appt with Deb, one of MJ's favorite Aunties, so popping cold pills and going out anyway. This is the beginning of two VERY busy weeks....Nana gets here Friday, Joanna gets here a week from tomorrow, busy, busy, busy.....

Hi Bonny! And yay for busy weeks!!!

Uh...DUH! I have to be honest here...we're in debt, beyond a mortgage. We can pay those bills, but it will take several years to do so. We were young and very very stupid when we acquired our debt, but we are so paying for it now. Which leaves me at a crossroads...when Joel starts kindergarten next year, he will be there all day. So, do I get a part time job, or do I go back to school, get better training and wait for a higher-paying job down the road?

What's his face and I are very smart then. We don't ever have a credit card balance, all we really are in debt for is our house, my car, and student loans. Plus a few things that we have a year to pay off without incurring intrest.

We are guilty of eating lunch & dinner out alot. There are just so many great restaurants here. Plus when there's just 2 of us, sometimes it's just easier/quicker. We are bad

Us too. It is sometimes easier just to go out to eat when there's only 2 of you. And it's not that we have so many great restaurants, but it's that by the time I get off work at 8:00 at night twice a week, I don't feel like cooking. I feel like eating!

A few pics for you all:

Marc looking VERY irritated with his family, and so far the only picture of me:

Arrrgh!

Being bored at the California Grille:

Yay!!! Pics from Disney!!!!

I'm amazed that you're still smiling through that Bunny!

I gotta agree. I think I'd shoot somebody. Especially if I were pregnant!

Poor Dottie!

Go to bed extra early tonight. Maybe that will help offset the not feeling like you're getting enough sleep.

Well, it was pretty close cost wise as new carpet. We hired somebody to do our entire house and it's like 2800 for everything...including laying new hardwood in the hallway and staining the floors. Plus putting quarter panneling down. I don't suggest doing it yourself though...too much work.

And I am sort of a photographer. :D My parents have their own studio, so I work here. I also photograph weddings. I do the B&W photojournalistic photos. The more candid stuff. Been doing that for about 5 years now I think.

$2800!!!!

I got a quote for like $15,000 for the whole house. The Glue was like $1500! Send me their card. I'll pay airfare and hotel cost and all meals while there here!!!!!

What kind of camera do you use most of the time. The reason I am asking is we bought and Olympus Digital SLR and can't understand half of what the stupid thing does.

Something to share. . .
George, my dear husband , is a very intelligent, motivated and ambitious individual. After retiring from the City of Philadelphia where he worked as a carpenter, he started a new life for himself, first as a photographer then as a computer geek, and most recently Philadelphia historian and documentarian. No slouch, my George!
Over the years though, I have noticed that he struggles with the written word. Funny, we are polar opposites. . .I thrive on the written word and he is in his element when it comes to public speaking. Anyway, like I said, he always seems to have problems reading, particularly out loud.
Our neighbor across the hall is a school psychologist and I mentioned George's problem to him recently. He told us that part of his job was testing children for learning disabilities and he said he'd be happy to test George. Last night, he put George through a battery of tests and came up with a diagnosis. George is "classicly dyslexic". I can't say we were really surprised. It just was strange to have it made definite after so many years of not being sure. It's a shame that at the time George was a student in grade school, there was no such thing as testing for learning disabilities. You were categorized as a "problem child" and that was the end of that.
Anyway. . .I found it interesting and thought you might too.

That's amazing Dot. You're right about all the testing available now - if only they had it back then!

Yes, if only.
Not that there is a cure. People with dyslexia generally find their own way around. Our neighbor also specializes in focusing problems. After the testing he did on George he told George that his mind works best while trying to focus on two things at once. He told him that when he is doing something that demands concentration he needs background sound . . .not television or anything else with voice. That would be a distraction instead of a help. He told him to have simple piano music playing in the background. One part of his mind will focus on the mellow music while the other focuses on the work at hand, thus making for a more harmonic work atmosphere. I found that fascinating!
