MJ's Birthday Blessings!

Well basically, they were teaching people how to get out of debt. But the people they were showing had things like 4 cars for 2 people, eating out 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, etc. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

Uh...DUH! I have to be honest here...we're in debt, beyond a mortgage. We can pay those bills, but it will take several years to do so. We were young and very very stupid when we acquired our debt, but we are so paying for it now. Which leaves me at a crossroads...when Joel starts kindergarten next year, he will be there all day. So, do I get a part time job, or do I go back to school, get better training and wait for a higher-paying job down the road?

I actually don't mind the rain all so much, it's the being cooped up with people 24/7 that's getting annoying. But I'll stop complaining. At least I'm here...

Really? You mean I shouldn't be eating out every meal, every day? I had no idea!
and you can actually use those things in your kitchen for preparing - dare I say it - home-cooked meals!

We're wrestling with debt too, as are many people out there. But I don't think the typical ones are living the lifestyles depicted there. I think a big part of the problem lies with the credit card companies and how little regulation there is for them. That problem needs to be addressed.

And (C) Bonny won't be there anyways!

Uh... no. These people are DVC members.. they think THEY are the experts in the group. I really miss my independance. When it's just my little family we can get things done so much quicker.

Oh no! I have been around those types of people. Is there anytime for "just your little family"? time for the group to break up?

I am thinking of starting this new diet...

The Stress Diet
(This diet is designed to help you cope with the stress that builds during the day.)

BREAKFAST

1/2 grapefruit
1 slice whole wheat toast
8 oz skim milk
LUNCH

4 oz broiled chicken breast
1 cup steamed spinach
1 cup herbal tea
1 Oreo cookie
MID-AFTERNOON SNACK

Remainder of Oreos in pack
2 pints Haagen-Daz ice cream
1 jar hot fudge sauce (optional:nuts, cherries, whipped cream)
DINNER

2 loaves garlic bread with cheese
large sausage & cheese pizza
4 cans or 1 large pitcher beer
3 Milky Way candy bars
LATE EVENING NEWS

Entire frozen Sara Lee cheesecake eaten directly from the freezer
***RULES FOR THIS DIET***

If you are eating something and no one see you eat it, it has no calories.
If you drink a diet soda with a candy bar, the calories in the candy bar are cancelled by the diet soda.
When you eat with someone else, calories don't count as long as you don't eat more than they do.
Food used for medicinal purposes never counts, such as hot choclate, brandy, toast and Sara Lee cheesecake.
If you fatten up the people around you, then you look thinner.
Movie related foods do not have additional calories because they are part of the entire entertainment package and are not part of one's personal intake. Examples are Milk Duds, buttered popcorn, Jr. Mints, Red Hots and Tootsie Rolls.
Cookie pieces contain no calories. The process of breaking causes caloric leakage.
Things licked off knives and spoons have no calories if you are in the process of preparing something. Examples are peanut butter on knife while making a sandwich or ice cream on a spoon while making a sundae.
Foods that have the same color have the same number of calories. Examples include spinach and pistachio ice cream, cauliflower and whipped cream.
NOTE: Chocolate is a universal substitute and may be used in place of any other food.

I think dealing w/ debt is such a common problem these days. I got into major debt in college, simply because my parents never really taught us about $$. Freshman year, I got 2 credit cards and you can imagine how quickly and easily I made my way into debt. I've gotten it under control over the years, but it still seems like there's always some kind of debt...now in the form of student loans (which, as I've said I'm allergic to).

That's a tough call. Do you think if you went back to school you'd have time to study? Maybe initially when he first starts back, you should get a part-time job until everyone gets used to the change (Joel being in school all day). Give it a few months, building up some savings and then decide about school? Then you'll be able to better judge how much time you'll be able to devote to studying.

:sohappy: I'm in! Sure beats the Disney-Diet I've put myself on!

You live in NYC, it is expected isn't it... I mean do you even have a kitchen:lol:

Ha ha, yes we have a kitchen. I just don't have a very good relationship w/ it. My grandma used to always tell me "If you can read, you can cook"...well I can read just fine but for some reason things never go right. I can bake pretty well, just not cook. In fact, I have a nasty burn on my hand right now from my latest attempt at cooking last week. :lookaroun
DBF calls me a work-in-progress. One of these days I'll get it :)
