News Mizner's Lounge to be expanded at Disney's Grand Floridan Resort into a Beauty and the Beast inspired lounge

Some subtler references for Beauty and the Beast fans, like the colors of the furniture on the balcony being the same as Beast and Belle's outfits from the ballroom scene.

Other elements are less subtle, like the lining on the chairs.

BatB is my favorite Disney movie but I'm not happy with loosing an adult lounge at GF. I hope this place doesn't end up full of kids. I guess we'll have to wait and see how the final product will be marketed.

Furniture looks cheap. Another scape goat for Chappie should be fired for this one as well....unless he's finally willing to own up to his own incompetence.

How many people need to fall for his miscalculations before something is done to turn responsibility on him.

Furnature is Ikea cheap and jarring with a scantly filled chandelier. The orchestra has been moved to a completely inappropriate area for guest flow, noise, and acoustics. It is a complete and total destruction. If the goal was to compete with the Four Seasons, they just surrendered.

Unreal. I come in to this thread hoping to see when this place would open because I am highly interested in visitng and this is the post I see.
Looks cheap? Compred to the previous furniture??

The lounge may not be open yet but I am very glad to see the lounges and some restaurants updated very nicely with beautiful furnishings, colors and a good clean look which is how all updates to restaurants, lounges, lobbies and hitel rooms should be in the future.

It's very pretty, but it would fit in better at the Riviera Resort. The furniture looks gorgeous. I wholeheartedly disagree with the person who thinks it looks cheap. I'd love to have a pair of those yellow chairs for my living room.

Wow it is even more disappointing than I expected...
Yeah the furniture is COMPLETELY wrong for that hotel...It would be fine in a modern hotel lounge, like a W hotel...though a little cheap looking.
The tone is wrong, the style is wrong, and it has absolutely no connection to 18th century France. Wow...

Unreal. Nothing about this is turn of the century Victorian and the Orchestra is being permanently displaced. I’m sure that the official Disney Parks blog will be posting opening date for your convenience.

Pretty soon nothing is going to look or feel like a Disney resort. They are throwing things together left and right without any cohesiveness whatsoever, yes areas like this need to be refreshed and remodeled, but keep with the theme and architecture of the resort. I think this is the mission though, do away with themes and make everything as simple and bland as possible. No one cares these days sadly, worst of all Disney certainly doesn't. This belongs at Riveria or Yacht Club, there is nothing Grand Floridian about it, at all. I hope the rumor is not true about Grand Floridian being turned into the princess kingdom suites resort. :depressed: It certainly looks like its beginning.

Rough crowd. I think it's lush, detailed and ornate. At least what I can tell by peeping through the bushes.

EDIT: To add, I do think the fit is odd being within a Victorian setting.

Because the best way to evoke a style is to ignore it.

I just don't get it. Beauty and the Beast doesn't fit in with the Grand FLORIDIAN, and retro/modern furniture doesn't fit with Beauty and the Beast or Floridian/Victorian architecture. Did anyone think this through?

And I agree it looks cheap - it looks like the latest line of Ikea furniture that go into modern corporate cafeterias to feel edgy.

Lush and Ornate? Seriously? It is absolutely horrendous...and a glaring eyesore at the Seaside Victorian inspired hotel...
