Missing students found at WDW

Some of you are missing the reality here, seems to me Mom doesn't like the boyfriend ;and because Mom couldn't get a hold of her daughter she freaked out and called the police. The key here is both of them are adults free to do what they choose as long as it's legal, so they went to WDW . Seems to me Mom couldn't get her way for what ever her reason was.

Sounds a lot like the way My mom was 20 years ago. seems Parents never change

Responsible adults don't run off for two weeks without letting any of the people who care for them know where they'll be. Just because they're of legal age to do so doesn't make it any less irresponsible. These two "adults" have a tad more growing up to do, it seems.

I just read the article that was on the AOL news regarding these two....All I have to say is are you kidding me?? I completely agree with you Wilt..these two have a LOT of growing up to do. Belle

Living in the metro Detroit area this story was a big deal on the news. (especially since her mother is in a postion of power in the legal system here.) When I heard on the news that they meet 3 years ago at WDW while on vacation, I thought (I bet that is where they are, they ran away to there.) I was of couse just joking and hoping for the best as normally stories like this do not end well.

Gald I was right!!!!!!!!!!


Please, that was just curel to their family. It was very planned since they did not use there cell phones or credit cards or any other way to trace them. There families were very sacared for their safety. They let them travel to the east coast alone, it isn't like the family objected to them being together on vacation. (my parents would of never let me take a "lovers" trip alone with my boyfriend when I was 19!)

Sure, Mommy doesnt like my boyfriend, I have an idea, let's run away and not tell anyone where we are going and just teach them a lesson. Get over it and grow up!!! If Mommy and Daddy dont like your BF, deal with it, dont run away like a scared little kid. All this says to me is that even though these kids are over 18, they really cant make a good well thought out decision without allowing certain urges to rule their thinking. Belle

Well, if these two little idiots think that mommy and daddy should help pay for college, they are nuts!!! If I did this, I'd be kicked outta the house. Who wants to be these two still live at home and mommy and daddy pay for everything. If you can be at MSU and go on Va-Ca at 19, well then gimmie her job!!! I can tell you right now my parents wouldn't pay for my college if i did that!

Missing "kids" found

I haven't read anywhere yet where they were found in Disney, but I guess that's beside the point right now!!! Another reflection on our society. They obviously learned somewhere that this is an acceptable form of behavior. Not saying I haven't made mistakes, because surely I have. But this is beyond stupid. Let's see: Scare the parents and family to death. Cause a national all points bulletin. Run away (like children) without telling a soul. And then, of course, tell authorities "we'll do whatever we want to do!!!"

Well I hope the parents do whatever they want to do, and pull the plug on both their college careers. Let's see how you like working for $5.35 an hour, somewhere. Hey I here Disney is hiring part-time!!!

Yep, they are both adults. Still, it would have been better if they said "Mom, like it or not, I am going!". It would have saved a whole bunch of police manpower and tax dollars.

Still, it is a free country, and if two adults want to go to WDW and not tell anyone, I guess that's their right. Even if it isn't a very polite thing to do. :)

Hey Strobe, I would agree with you if these two kids didnt at some point have to return back to their parents house, with Mommy and Daddy paying their tuition. If they REALLY want to be adults, move out, get a full time job with benefits, go to college at night and stand on your own two feet!! THEN we will talk about these two being adults. I believe that if you are living under your parents roof, it is their rules. If you dont like them and are legally of age....move out and make up your own standards. You just cant have it both ways though. Belle

an 18 year old view

I just took my boyfriend to disney for his first time. I am 18 and he is 17. we did it with full adult supervision and, just in case his parents had a last min. change of heart (cause i would have told mine too bad) I had a form signed by him mom saying that she knew where we were and what we were doing. this is just the thing that we were trying to prevent. I can see their side, but I agree, they should have at least said to their parents that they were goin, no mattedr what.

Oh, I agree with you 10,000% Belle. I am not a parent, but if my child pulled a stunt like that, they wouldn't be welcome back for a while. You'll get no argument from me, I lived at home through college, and even at 21, I never disrespected my parents rules. Technically, they are adults, but morally what they did was wrong. In the process, they wasted a whole bunch of police manpower too. But, in the eyes of the law, the only thing they did wrong was act incourteously.

Sometimes I just don't understand why people act the way they do... :confused:
