Minnie Mouse groped

I'd like to know more of the particulars about this- some of this doesn't add up. How would he know it's a even a female inside the costume? And would it even be possible to feel the through the costume?

I don't see how this makes a difference. In what context would it be appropriate to fondle a female character's and buttocks, regardless of the gender of the person inside the costume? And let's face it, most people assume that the person inside is the same gender as the character. Why would this guy assume that the person portraying Minnie was male?

Fact or your view ?

In UK law - this is sexual assault and would receive a sentence in line with the gravity of the offence.

Sure - name and shame and his family will also suffer the embarrassment - but this pervert needs jail time
The cover story this week in The Economist (a 166-year-old magazine based in the U.K.) argues that the U.S. punishes s_x offenders too harshly.

I doubt if this guy would have been punished more severely in the U.K., or anywhere else in Europe.

Unfortunately reasonable people do incredibly unreasonable, immature and sometimes harmful things when away from home and/or out of their native environment. Being a retired military officer I cannot tell you the amount of times men were brought before me for non judicial, or company, punishment (i.e. one step away from a court marshal and possibly Leavenworth prison) because they forgot themselves when off base. When I asked them why? I usually heard they did these idiotic things to be funny and to impress their friends although alcohol was usually mentioned in their defense. I would listen, lecture and punish as necessary with extra duty, loss of pay and demotion to a lesser rank. Sometimes local authorities were also involved then it got more sticky and usually resulted in double punishments, civil and military. It’s funny but when I threaten to inform their parents that I usually saw actual remorse and received promises of good behavior in the future.
This 60 year old man who more than likely isn’t a sexual predator but a guy trying to be funny now has to go back home, go back to work, possibly go to church and explain his behavior to his friends and family.
Not to sermonize, that’s my wife’s job, but the moral really is “sin in haste, repent in leisure. “

You're right that alcohol is often involved in these sorts of incidents. Not that it excuses anything. But I wonder if this guy was sober.

Understood. But in this case, alcohol isn't even sold in the MK. You can't weigh that he didn't show up already intoxicated though. And who was he trying to "impress?" His grandchildren? No. Since this happened on June 7th (Gay Days) maybe he was trying to prove himself. Think about it. You can't throw it out.

Raven,

Please don't misunderstand me I'm not trying to excuse this moron, I am telling you that people do stupid things when away from home in an attempt to "show-off" and bring attention to themselves. (Then they usually blamed alcohol for their actions). I'm just telling you my experiences of why they do idiotic things.

If a man in my command did something like, after I got him back from civil authority, I would "throw the book at him". There is no excuse for this man's actions.

We need you in the judicial system! They didn't even mention if he's going to be put on the offenders list. The guy that touched the kids back ends in the wave pool got more punishment. This guy was groping her and buttocks and not trying to hide it. What's wrong with this picture? Just because she was playing a character the punishment shouldn't be any less.

He was charged with misdemeanor battery. I don't know this for a fact, but I would think you can't be forced to register as a $ex offender unless you're actually charged with a $ex crime. It sounds like prosecutors didn't think they had enough here to make that kind of charge stick.

Refresh my memory if I'm wrong, but didn't the wave pool guy try to reach under the bathing suits of those girls? To me, that's a genuine $ex crime. This just doesn't rise to that standard in my mind.

I was talking about the man that touch the boys. He merely touched their back sides and was slapped with a higher punishment. He ended up confessing it and was on vacation with a minor as well.

It's pretty sick what some people will do. I find it pretty amazing though that she stayed in character during this whole thing. Hopefully, this guy will get what he deserves and she can go on and keep doing the great job she is doing.

Sure hope that he gets a nice write-up in his hometown newspaper. He might even make the "person of interest" list at his local police department if there have been some unsolved gropings in his town. Probably the first time that he ever thought of doing such a disrespectful thing - but you never know. I hope that the victim's memory of the incident will eventually fade away.

I knew Brittney years ago. We worked together on multiple occasions, even sharing a common bidline for a while. She has always been the type of person to speak up against this and supported those who it happened to, even if they didn't speak up. I applaud her for doing so, while other performers have stayed silent.

This story doesn't really involve a lot of scrutiny toward Disney.

I imagine the reason it got reported is because you have a girl who plays Minnie Mouse crying on the witness stand. Pretty much tailor-made for TV news.

They're facing more scrutiny due to the deviation of their precedent of siding with the guest. Brittney went public, this hit the press, and Disney is being scrutinized.

Minnie Mouse Molestation

Gosh, that reminds me of that baneful "Mouse Orgy" video nearly 3 years ago, but still - that's awful, really. :brick:
