Mine Ride Construction Update

Didn't that "insider" also later backtrack and say all he saw were the animals and not the dwarfs and that he was making assumptions based on how "good" those looked? Also while these figures are unquestionably much better than expected, their motion is still not as good as Ursula as he also was claiming. The projected faces adds some nice articulation to the heads, but the rest of the bodies aren't exactly cutting edge. They certainly are actual animatronics and look quite good, but there have been better figures in the past. And how well animated the figures are varies from dwarf to dwarf. Doc is the most impressive one with the best motion but the rest don't have as much movement. We'll see what they did for Snow White.
This seems to be the crucial point that is repeatedly missed. The technology of the physical animation is not ground breaking and recognition of such is not a "bash" or a demand that it be as such.

yep, agree. Although it's hard to tell from what we have seen in the short clips and the clips may not be doing them full justice but the projections look better than anything we have seen so far. The facial features really play tricks on you and make you think the face is really moving. Very cartoonish but also very animated.

So, seeing the audio animatronics makes me wonder if that "supposed insider" who went postal was really telling the truth???

Doubtful. His main motive was for attention, and when his attention turned sour, he snapped.

Anyone with credible info would have stood by their claims and not backtracked as much as he did. Also the question of "will there be audio-animatronics?" was a 50/50 yes or no answer. Anyone could say there would be animatronics and have 1/2 a chance of being right. The level of intricacy and detail however, is not a guess. That's where he failed, backtracked, then snapped.

If they don't open this ride immediately after media previews, I guest the only thing that confuses me is the D23 event on May 10...
"...products commemorating the opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction will be available while supplies last..."
It means just that....The products will commemorate the opening (whenever that may be). They can sell products before the event has actually happened.

Perhaps because I'm a word geek, I'm nitpicking, but to commemorate means to be done in rememberance of a past event, so maybe @PrincessNelly_NJ is onto something :)
@unkadug I was taking it exactly how @HeatherWatson put it. That often commemorate is used to describe past events. But I guest they could sell the products before the ride opens... seems silly... then again holding a celebration event in CA for a ride in FL seems silly too.

It's also possible they intended to have the ride open before the event but things changed.

They were touting the opening on the news and supposedly 'other gems' are supposed to be announced? Guess it's not *just* for the mine train, but I don't know what they have to talk about at this point. I'm not getting hopes up just in case, lol.
