Has anyone else heard this rumor?
I was speaking with a friend of mine; whose father is a "Microsoft Champion" ( I think this is some type of Presidents Club winner/ sales & marketing) In any case my friend told me he father was being reassigned from Redmond to WDW to work on a new restaurant at EPCOT Center in the Odyssey using microsofts new operating system on "touch" table tops.

When I saw the thread title my mind shot back to 2002 and SSE.

I have heard of the table top thing, though, but for Odyssey? That's new.

If true, that would be the Microsoft "Surface" table top.

I have seen the screens in action somewhere from the net. They look pretty cool, and would be a welcomed addition.

Especially if the Odyssey may return. :D

Here is an example of the Resaruant App for Microsoft Surface:

Here is another example of Microsoft in general:

I find this rumor very interesting because the technology is extremely cool. It is technology that should be displayed in EPCOT like it is displayed in Innoventions at Disneyland.

But isn't that building slowly sinking? :lookaroun

Sounds interesting. I think having the Odyssey open again on a regular basis would be great. It is a great location but seriously underutilized.

I've gotten that on my Mac a few times in recent weeks, and always after I start it up...I know this is a thread drift, but what does it mean?:lookaroun
Unfortunately is is just as ambiguous as the MS BSOD. On the rare chance I see it on a Windows machine I start with hardware diagnostics and drivers. No clue if is the same on a Mac.

Fun.:dazzle:

I think it's battery related...All the times it's happened has been when I've disconnected the MacBook from the adapter...

Actually, the building the building is used quite a bit. I contains many important facilities and the kitchens are used all day. Special Events uses the front-of-house part quite a bit.
Just because it is not open to the general public doesn't mean it isn't being used or is needed.

If something actually comes of this then I say great. This would be very EC and a much needed shot in the arm for the underrated and outdated Odyssey complex.

Sounds like a perfect application to implement in Epcot. Still don't think people on here realize just how much that building is used, though.

It is still used very often for Grand Gatherings multiple nights a week, where families have a buffet-style character meal.

Plus, Epcot has more restaurants than the rest of the parks combined. Does it need another?

Either way, it doesn't take away the fact that a touch screen table would be ideal in epcot.

Interesting rumor. If it happens, I wonder though if it would be as a guest experience, or whether it would remain closed and used for events only as it currently is.

That would be amazing.

I doubt they'd pour that much money into a state of the art cutting edge table service venue into a structurally unsound building that they can simply leave alone and use for events like they are now though.
