Disneyland also made it easier to see them by putting them in the treat trails.

WDW used to do this as well in the earlier days of the Parties.

I remember the old 'Alice in Wonderland' treat trail that used to happen over on the ol' pathway of yore between Toontown Fair and Tomorrowland.
Mad Hatter, Alice, the Tweedle boys, and even the Walrus used to appear and help pass out candy.

There was a 'Tarzan' themed one for a year or two over in the formerly empty Adventureland Veranda space.
Tarzan, Jane, Terk, the whole gang.
It was one of the better ones at the time.

Disneyland however does a much better job of it, with specific theming and all.
But then again, Disneyland always did have the edge when it came to characters.

I remember this! Saw the Walrus and Alice. I think that was like 15 years ago. 😵

In the Parks
No
Might not have the staffing to support it, or....
Payroll tampering to keep expenditures down ( thus more profit per event ).

This is Chapek's World now, remember.

How long are we gonna use the staffing as an excuse honestly. They are charging an arm and a leg for these events. You can literally overpay a bunch of characters for party nights only and it still wouldnt put a dent into the money they are making…

Need to ask Bob Chapek that, the next time either of us see him.

Staffing is one thing, but when characters like the dwarves, Moana, Mirabel, etc, they have performers for them, and we know that bc the appear everyday in either a parade or calvacades

Having a character in a parade or show isn’t the same as a meetable character. They have to be trained how to handle guests, and Disney would need more characters to staff the cavalcades and parties.

That said it truly is mind boggling the decisions made in Florida when it comes to characters. Miguel shouldve been an automatic in given the film is centered around Dia de los Muertos a holiday in the same time and similar motifs as Halloween. Decorate the unused TSI dock by Thunder Mountain with an ofrenda and marigold garlands and you got yourself a meet and greet for him.

Some are trained for both. It’s just ridiculous that time and time again WDW gets the short end of the stick

Dia De Los Muertos isn't really Halloween though.
