I can definitely see your side, but I'd rather have a nice new E-ticket and some nice restaurants than a meet-and-greet.
However, I've always loved the design Toontown. I'll kind of miss it, even though I never spent much time there. Is that odd?

I was thinking the same!
At the same time I like the Expo Hall the way it is. When I was at MK in the Spring I made sure to take a trip to the Expo Hall theatre - it's a nostalgic thing for me. When growing up my Dad and I spent a lot of time in the Main Street Theater (when it only showed movies!) while my Mom shopped. This time my three year old was with me and to my suprise I couldn't get her to leave! She wanted to watch all these Mickey cartoons she had never seen before.
Have a question for everyone, is my memory playing tricks on me? Wasn't there two hallways that led to the back theater at one time? This spring there was only one on the left side of the building, but on previous trips I was sure there were one on each side. If I'm right, maybe that old hallway would be available for Mickey's Apartment?

um the whole clown concept is a turn off to me, and sounds cheap and tacky. Is this the best they can do for the coaster? I understand its part of the new Dumbo area, but clowns dont have the best reputation with alot of people and it just seems like a flat cheap theme. When I think about it the entrance to the simpsons ride at universal comes to mind.

Seriously, bringing Mickey to Town Square is almost like having him come home. IIRC, back in the day, the only place to meet Mickey in the MK was in a controlled M&G in the nook between Sun Bank and City Hall.
Yes, I was going to say the -same- thing! The first time I meant Mickey was somewhere in Town Hall--- I was 8, so about 15 years ago or so, but I remember it was very quiet and well organized. The current meet and greet just gives me a headache anyway.
I don't know, to me seeing Mickey should be a destination. To me, he doesn't belong in the front of the park. It seems anti-climatic.
I'd bet any M&G for Mickey on Main Street would be temporary.
As for TTF being closed as soon as January, looking at the plans and knowing WDI doesn't want to close more than they need to at any one time, it seems completely unnecessary. I would imagine TTF will be the very last area to close and will probably be open until 2012 when the princess areas open. They would only need to close it for Pixie Hollow – which doesn't open until 2013 for a reason (so that TTF can remain open as long as possible).

It's also possible the "temporary" structures of TTF which have been used far beyond their intended lifespan are just too worn out/moldy etc to stay up much longer. We should know soon.

Mickey is the most biggest character star in Disney World and it is a shame his meet and greet locations just fall flat and are less then impressive. I wish each park had a spectacular location for Mickey and Minnie. The mouse is very over looked and he doesn't even have his own dark ride. Anyone else think the same?

Years before Toontown (or "Mickeys Birthdayland", then "Mickeys Starland", then, then, then...), Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the gang were on Main Street or in other areas of the park. To me, Main Street is where they belong... at the beginning... where it all begins. To me, this is perfect.

YES- I was so happy when we first heard about Philharmagic. I thought that finally Mickey would have his own attraction. But then, I realized quickly that it wasn't a Mickey attraction- as usual, it was more of a Donald thing. Although I love Philharmagic, it would have been better for me if it had been about Mickey.
I say take part of the Pixie Hollow-thing and make a Mickey through the years dark ride. It doesn't have to be a big thing- it could be along the same lines as the Pooh ride.

Exactly. And the clowns in Dumbo were portrayed as a bunch of jerks who had no reguard for Dumbo's safty during their acts.
They could just theme it to a traveling circus carnival ride without any clowns.

Has anyone given thought to the parking lot behind the Exposition Hall? That area plus space from the hall could provide a fairly sizable Fab 5 M&G...

YES! "Toon Street" off of Main Street! An Urban ToonTown. And also, a nice second egress from the hub away from Main Street - during parades and fireworks.
As great as that would be, I won't hold my breath.
But Mickey being at the front of the park makes sense. A good host should greet guests as they enter - it's simply good manners.

Back when I was a kid and Woodrow Wilson was President, Mickey didn't have any kind of a residence in the parks and no one really thought he needed one. Sure, I realize that Mickey's house has been a part of the MK for quite a number of years now, but I seriously doubt there'd be a huge populist uprising if he wasn't given a new "home" somewhere else in the park.

My personal preference is that he has somewhere on Main Street. It's a good idea - reminiscent of the days when you were likely to bump into Mickey instead of dropping a visit. Just don't make it too "toony".
What I don't understand is why so many people seem to clamor for it in the MK. If he needs a house so bad, just make a new Toon Town @ DHS where it fits in much better. In fact, I'd support replacing the Backlot Tour with a Toon Town. As much as I enjoy having a backlot tour, it's been pared down, and that space could be much better suited towards a Toon Town.
