Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

Just read an article on theme park tourist that incorrectly stated that it is using the same ride system as GMR. :banghead:
Ya...what are they smoking? @marni1971, this is probably a silly question to ask but they really wouldn't be using the same layout right? I'm going to ignore the ride system question since that just seems unlikely. Using a long, drawn-out layout would hurt the idea of having small, nimble cars. Unless they would reuse the same vehicles...
"This is of course, not an accident, and is confirmation that this new attraction will be using the exact same ride vehicles as the former attraction that occupied this building. And that's not the only thing from the former journey into the movies that will be repurposed inside this new attraction.

Though we won't re-publish it here, Theme Park Insider has published a detailed room-by-room breakdown of this new attraction and it seems like the ride layout is basically identical to that of the Great Movie Ride with a few small adjustments. "

Oh dear. There’s so much wrong with that article.

Any comment on the description of the show scenes from TPI?
Does that mean I have to read it too? :arghh:
Some of it is correct, some of it is confused. Some of it omits key things. Given the description they also seem to contradict themselves in saying it’s the same GMR layout. Which it most certainly isn’t.

My guess is they made a lazy assessment that the layout is the same just because the ride follows the same general counterclockwise path through the building.

Picturing an amazing visual experience on the set walls and “ceiling” of this attraction...only to look down and see the image-shimmering floor with the shinny “trackless” paths of the rv’s. Therefore, can anyone confirm, in addition to avoiding the shinny dark-color floor issue...will map projection be applied to the floor to provide more depth? Maybe also, after load departure, slowly elevate the rv’s pneumaticly 2-3 feet as well? Or, elevate quickly, as the rv becomes “a part of the animation”? (a micro-dino rv)

Wrap it with a photo pass shot of the rv surrounded by map projection on walls, ceiling and floor...
reach in them jeans, and pull out those greens!!😉

There can be projections on the floor.

You can’t really avoid floor marks. Even a dull floor will get shiny wheel treads over a short period of time. The floor also needs to be by its nature something with traction but non conductive and insulated from static (as Energy RIP found out)

So you either go with a none shiny floor and live with shiny tracks or you go for an overall uniform look that will be uniform but reflect (even a matte floor will reflect a large screen)

Thanks for info, and curious if you’re aware projections will be on floor.
Seems like an even “more immersive” idea than walls/ceiling alone. Possible drawback...guests could be blinded by projections😆
Then again, maybe that works for the budget...blind them in the first 30 seconds, then less set design required for remainder of attraction😳
