Oh, but Disney would never do that. It really does take five years to build a hill in Fantasyland...really.
Thats a ride system on top of the first floor service complex.

There are no Utilidors under the Dwarf Coaster.Thats a ride system on top of the first floor service complex.
Yeah non of new Fantasyland is connected by the Utilidoors. They go as far as Winnie the Pooh/Friars Nook. There are no Utilidors under the Dwarf Coaster.
Remember there used to be a lagoon here. If I recall the closest the tunnels got to the area were the original locker rooms and men’s restroom that both sat at the side of the lagoon at the same grade.Yeah non of new Fantasyland is connected by the Utilidoors. Glad I wasn't the only person who thought I was going crazy when I thought it was harder to see the various characters because of the lighting. It is criminal that they haven't even added the cheap and simple fiber optic starfield there. I gasped when I saw them in Disneyland's Pan, they are so effective. You can add a starfield using the same exact materials to your child's bedroom for a few hundred dollars these days, I just cannot understand why they haven't done it at WDW. It's embarrassing.
HELP ME MISTER SMEE HELP ME!Not to mention the ancient "Someone doing the crappiest impression of Captain Hook and Smee ever" voices that haven't been replaced despite having Corey Burton audio recorded for Disneyland in the 80s that could be slotted in overnight.
Pan needs help bad. It’s a shame that the attraction based on my favourite film gets the least TLC. Especially since it’s one of the most popular attractions on resort property!I’ve heard nothing about WDWs Pan I’m afraid. Even bringing the visuals up to EDL 92 standards would be a start.

What a missed opportunity to update the ride in terms of visuals and audio. You would think the new interactive queue made years ago could have gave you a hint but the actual ride is still like it was for almost 50 years.yet how many millions did they spend for that new enclosed queue addition? meanwhile no tlc for the ride itself. Def something wrong there.
Is it true that there are ADA compliance issues that complicate any large scale attempts to improve the attraction?I’ve heard nothing about WDWs Pan I’m afraid. Even bringing the visuals up to EDL 92 standards would be a start.

I can’t imagine there are any issues unique to this version of Pan, and every other version has seen updates (aside from Shanghai, which is a different story). Is it true that there are ADA compliance issues that complicate any large scale attempts to improve the attraction?

I rode it today — had a FastPass, I’d probably never get in otherwise — a lot of the charm is baked-in. They don’t really need to change a lot, no need for excavation of scenes, just clean up some of the edges and sprinkle some pixie dust over what’s already there. Shanghai notwithstanding since it’s a more ambitious ride, Florida could pretty easily have the best version if they just build off the bones they have.rode wdw pan fairly recently and was taken aback, to be honest...
but it's hard to expect serious reno when guests continually jam-pack the current iteration.
I can’t see how since a) it could be grandfathered and b) the ride system wouldn’t come under the remit. Is it true that there are ADA compliance issues that complicate any large scale attempts to improve the attraction?
As explained to me the current attraction is grandfathered but any sizeable investment in the facility would require bringing the attraction up to current standards.I can’t see how since a) it could be grandfathered and b) the ride system wouldn’t come under the remit.

You’re totally right about the numbers it brings in, I’m sure that’s why the ride never sees real love. Hopefully one day someone will force a refurb to give it the cosmetic update it deserves. It’s a great little ride that’s just lost it’s lustre.
I’m sure a fibre optic install could be argued of not being sizeable. More likely an incremental modernisation, like new speakers or LED lighting. As explained to me the current attraction is grandfathered but any sizeable investment in the facility would require bringing the attraction up to current standards.
And using a new soundtrack instead of the same loop of You Can Sky heard everywhere compared to Disneyland that uses music from the film.I can’t imagine there are any issues unique to this version of Pan, and every other version has seen updates (aside from Shanghai, which is a different story).
Surely there’s room for cosmetic improvement in the ride, though I have’t fallen madly in love with the ways any of the others have been updated in the last 5 years or so. They’ve all been sort of a mixed bag to me, with Tokyo resulting in a net loss with the redesign of their Neverland room. Paris seems to have fared best, and generally they showed a lot of restraint there. Their ride needed less, though, since it opened in 1992 and was designed as a small step up from the others to begin with.
All of this is to say, I don’t think the list for updating Florida’s Pan need be very long. New audio, fiber optics, and a new coat of paint would go pretty far. Sprinkle in some projection mapping if you want, some of those have been nice. I’d even forgive them if they skimped on improving the animation of the figures if at least they refinished them all to be more on-model — check out WDW vs. DL:
