I'm not a POTC historian per se, but everywhere I've read says it's Paul Frees that voices the "dead men tell no tales" part. I could be wrong though.

Well I’m probably wrong then. Funny enough I used to think it was Paul Frees as well... until a few people on this site “corrected” me. But now I can’t quite recall if I was referring to the talking skull spiel or the “dead men tell no tales” in the caverns.

The Fantasyland Train Depot lasted 10 years from 1956-1966. with no new Station until 1985 with the Videopolis Station. It was later replaced with the Toontown Station in 1993. Jack Wagner didn't bring his services to Disney until the 1970's. Disney may still have a recording of Jack Wrather (the original voice for the announcer) .

They could always cannibalize Monster's Inc and that north side of Hollywood land. Plenty of room for a nice sized show building.

True, it is 4 acres without the Eastern gateway... but all you would get is the ride and the eating complex if its to the same scaling. With the Eastern Gateway you'd have more room to fill that area out a bit.

I'm still scratching my head for IP that would work. It's really just the usual suspects (Pirates, Indiana and Jungle Book) - for various reasons those make no sense. Mermaid, but I don't think it would really work without being live action and again...

Or 20K leagues, but alas...

A treatment with Black Panther perhaps, Namor definitely. So maybe that's not totally a crazy spot after all.

Excluding Space Mountain and the sub lagoon, the entire stretch of the Resort from Hollywood Blvd going north until the Motorboat Cruise area is full of wasted and underutilized space.

The whole eastern side of both parks are a bunch of waste. Hollywood land and Tomorrowland have great potential. They really need to make a decision and cut some of the monorail tracks over the old motorboat area and clear the land for large attraction spaces and tear down the old America sings building and Autopia

Oh, you're talking for a specific ride system? (Sorry I'm only half-skimming these threads rn).
The north end of Hollywood land would be the ideal spot for any high-capacity dark ride.

Everything I've ever read on PotC has said that both the skull and the "Dead men tell no tales" voices are X Atencio. Atencio also did some other incidental voices in the ride (Off the top of my head, he used to be one of the spectating Pirates in the Auction scene before it was bastardized).

Frees did the Auctioneer, the old ship Captain, the final cavern voice and probably some other voices I don't know about.

True but outside of Hollywoodland I don’t think any of the mentioned areas are candidates for a huge boat ride.

I don't know, I'd be willing to lose most if not all of Subs, Autopia, and Motorboat area for a new boat ride. Would also be a way to keep the lagoon...

I wasn’t talking about what I want just what has been rumored and what makes sense. You also have to take atmosphere/ aesthetics into consideration. Not sure what a monster show building would do to that side of the park. The building would be completely inside the berm. Plus we know they want a Frozen ride/ Arendelle and probably a BATB restaurants as part of a Fantasykand expansion. As far as TL I’m not seeing a huge boat ride as a possibility for any IP or direction they go. So it seems to me that any huge boat ride would have to go in DCA between Hollywoodland and the future expansion area. A large show building acting as a berm to Harbor would be a good idea.

I'm sorry maybe I missed it, but when was there an actual rumor of a boat ride? I had thought its was just us all throwing out ideas around a boat ride attraction and where it could go. I didn't think an actual rumor was being discussed.

Also while I agree they are looking at Frozen for that area, or at least that is what the rumor says. I'm just saying that area could be used for a boat ride instead.

A large show building does already existing in that area, the Subs show building, which I believe is primarily below ground level. The same could be done for any addition that needs to be done to make a show building any larger. And I would expect it to be part of FL not TL.

I personally just don't see them using HwL for a boat ride, unless somehow its Marvel themed.

No rumor. We were just throwing ideas of where a possible boat ride could go at DLR. IMO there is no space for one at DL for reasons mentioned in my last post.

Well like I said they could reuse the subs show building, which as I understand it is pretty large already. And then if needed they can continue to expand it underground. And since the show building would be primarily underground you could have a restaurant attached to it at ground level overlooking the attraction similar to Blue Bayou with PotC.

Basically what I'm saying is they could use that area for a Frozen boat ride (or some other IP) with restaurant. And they'd still have more expansion space left over into the Motorboat area. Because the PotC/Blue Bayou building is smaller than the footprint for Subs/Autopia/Motorboat.

And like I said it would be the FL expansion, not part of TL.

The space is there I just don’t see a large show building making any sense given the rumors we heard and considering the DL layout. Disney hasn’t shown any interest in building underground in years. They weren’t even wise enough to do stuff like that when they built DCA. The Frozen ride is rumored to be a trackless ride.

If I were a betting man (and I am) I’d bet if we ever see a new boat ride it goes into DCA. Theres a better fit there and could use the draw.

I just don't see it as HwL is basically slated for Marvel. So unless you're betting they aren't using HwL for Marvel, then it doesn't make sense.

Either way we're just Blue Sky'ing here.
