Can you clarify how this worked with your LL purchase? Wouldn’t going through the standby queue mean having to wait with standby guests?
Yeah that's pretty much it. I essentially was able to use it as a boarding pass despite not having been around for the pass drop at 7 AM and 1 PM, if that makes sense. And yeah I had to wait a bit once I got to the "Modern Mickey" room, but I felt that was worth it for a first time seeing the queue.

Thanks, that does make sense!

What would you say is its purpose was-to sell Lightning Lanes? Because otherwise I can't say it had a purpose.

If the ride system is proven and reliable, and WDW opened it without a virtual queue (in a park with less than ten rides) and things were fine, there's theoretically no reason for DL to go VQ unless they just wanted to milk out some ILL sales.

Disney is trying to make the stand-by line as long as possible to try and force people into buying LL.

I'm confused... So they used VQ so they could sell more ILLs.....but they also got rid of VQ so they could sell more ILLs...

I will simplify how it works with the priority pass business venture of a theme park or attraction.

Virtual Queue exists to limit the options and potential. Illusion of limited supply.

The demand was not there enough to turn people to just buying a LL, so they can open it to show a standby queue wait and hope to sell as many as they can that way as not enough people felt it was worth it when VQ was an option.

That's not good.

Didn't they have to modify the ride vehicles on Rise for accessibility reasons? You would think they'd have this sort of thing figured out by now...

See the area I marked in yellow? A person transferring cannot make it properly. the wheelchair/scooter needs to be able to pull up right next to the seat so they can slide right into the car. Too much gap - they have to shimmy inside the door and many can not do this.
I am disabled myself, amputee, and I know first hand. See second image - gotta have the chair right up to it to transfer.
If you've never had to do it, you can;t appreciate how important this is.

My first ride was row 2, my second was row 6. I'm glad I got the best car for my first time.

I found it to be considerably better. It even made that bust of a stampede room decent to me. By far the best car for the tunnel with Mickey and Minnie and even the carnival was better. Not to mention the view of Goofy.
