Quick couple of questions for those of you who have already attended one of this years edition of the Party -

According to this years Party Guide Map, 'Stitch's Great Escape" and 'Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor' are both listed as Attractions during the event.
Even notes a description of the show at each, as well as a 'last show' listing of the night for MILF at 10pm.
So this gives me the impression these are both operational during the party.
My question is then, are they indeed...?

Prior years I recall both of these Attraction spaces being used only for treat trails .....and this year I'm aware of Elvis Stitch appearing in the pre-show area of SGE during the Party.
So what is the real story here? Are they running, or not..?
The Party Map seems to imply these are Attractions operating this year for the event.
True? False? Misprint..?

I'd like to know if these are both operational during the Party.
I am one of the few who actually enjoys experiencing SGE and this would likely be my last chance to see it in person.

Thanks in advance for the insight.

MILF you exit the trick or treat line through the theater, so definitely not open!

Not only would the accountant panic over the staffing costs, but imagine if all the guests currently standing in outrageously long Meet and Greet lines were actually out in the Park. They might have to limit ticket sales further with the crowding. ;)

But then how/where does the "if they don't stand in line, they can be out spending more money" come into play? :greedy::greedy::greedy:

I recall hearing of some problems partygoers had getting through airport security screening at MCO with their hauls of Halloween Party candy last year.
The impression I was getting at the time was the airport had stepped up it's screening procedures and if you were bringing any amount of candy goodness with you in your carry on items you were subject to a longer processing.

I would enjoy hearing more about this, as I always do carry on and prefer not to do checked bags.
I'm planning to attend one of the HalloParties while in town within a couple of weeks and I am curious about others experiences.

I didn't check the whole thread to see if anyone replied, but yes, TSA has added that your bag is searched by hand if it has food in it. This is at all airports, not just MCO.

Interesting. Do you know if this applies to Pre-Check? I've definitely had food (Clif bars, bags of trail mix) in my carry on for multiple flights this year in and out of MCO and never had bags searched because of it.

I know for a fact that it doesn't include pre-check. I take food all the time through pre-check and I've not had a problem.

Edit - this includes my candy from last years party.

You know enough to know Tokyo’s entertainment refresh schedule for seasonal offerings. WDW should match that

Exactly.

But we'll get told that guests still line up or fill a theater. Why does that excuse not doing anything? It shouldn't.

And another problem is due to the laziness of not wanting to spend the money on upgrades, guests are accustomed to shows running for 20 years. They shouldn't be accustomed to that. And if they are, update the show. Why not switch over Beauty and the Beast at DHS to the costumes and designs from the live action movie? I have the same problem with Fantasmic but I think the stage shows are more of a problem than a night show lasting so long, but even then, why not change up Fantastmic?

People say they want fresh but then because they like a certain show they think it should last forever as it is.

Entertainment should not be judged by its age. It should be judged by its quality. Boo to You is still considered a fantastic parade after 15 years, so why should Disney allocate a chunk of their parks budget towards replacing it?

I disagree. Good or not why SHOULD a parade run for 15-20 years? Maybe I'd be more for it if they added new floats or did something different besides minor changes. The parade IS great. I love it. But we should all want them to keep updating it if you want the same show or parade around for 20 years. Some things absolutely can last a long time but I argue there needs to be solid updates over the years. No a whole new parade probably isn't necessary.

I feel like I'm living in a bizarro world where it's wrong to want something to be better? Or updated? Kept fresh? Why do we always settle for what we've come to know?

I agree.. Small World Holiday and Country Bears Christmas would be brilliant! The Small World Holiday in DL is spectacular.

Both seem like no brainers. IASW could easily go down for the refresh and it wouldn't impact much. I mean, they do it for Jungle Cruise. Why not Small World? And they used to do Country Bears. They just don't want to. Or haven't wanted to. I wish they did things because they could and wanted to.

You hit the nail on the head. It just isn't something they care to do. It cracks me up that in the parks, they don't decorate anything outside of really doing MSUSA. Yet, they do a bunch at Springs. Rows of trees, but nothing in other parts of the parks. Just seems odd to me. You promote Halloween or Christmas at Disney World, and its not done to the fullest potential. Sad really.

However when you are bringing in $2,000,000 plus a night for the party. A refresh wouldn't be so bad. Average ticket is $90 and they max out at 20,000 tickets (If I remember correctly.) That's a decent chunk of change. One party would pay for a complete new parade and then some. And not by adding a $10/hr person to an attraction and calling that a plus factor. lol

It is sad. They honestly do the bare minimum. Sometimes it's just above. I'm personally shocked Jingle Cruise has lasted. I'm glad it has, it's simple and fun. Doesn't really take away from the ride but adds some tacky Christmas fun. It's fitting. I don't need it to be more than it is. I also appreciate they did something with Tea Party, Space Mountain and Pirates for Halloween. I know most weren't very thrilled but it's a start ... at least I'm trying to look at it that way.

They don't bother enticing guests with new things because they still show up for what they've grown accustomed to over the last 15 years. If the same guests and bloggers who praise their cupcakes on twitter shamed them for their lackluster offerings more ...

Yes
At least according to my friend from California who did the party for the first time this year in Florida, Jack & Sally meeting all day doesn't help much.

We waited two hours to meet Jack & Sally. She said that during the day in Disneyland she waited an hour and a half to meet them. It just seems like the characters are too popular to be on the street and not in a dedicated space (with multiples at one time).

Granted, this is anecdotal evidence. So, take it with a grain of salt

Last I checked DL doesn’t do them back to back so not quite apples to apples

Jack and Sally are terrific at Disneyland.

Met them just passing by one day a couple of years ago...didn't even know they were out at that time.
I waited maybe 20 or 25 minutes in a short line.
The interactions with the characters was great.....actual discussion, and Jack acted curious about what I was wearing that day.
Sally was sweet.

It was a nice little set up there tucked away in New Orleans Square.
It wasn't 'rushed' and the setting was intimate.
A nice surprise.
