And I wouldn't want it on my conscious that something bad happened b/c I had a major bridge, and one of the few ways out of DC, shut down. I agree in part, but as I cited, but some of what he has done has caused gross impositions and is falt out dangerous. Yes, unprecedented times, but things could be done differently than they are. Getting around DC and LA is bad enough under normal circumstances. Presidential complications or no, I do not miss all the horrible commutes that I had! And I didn't even have it as bad as some people. I still marvel at the people who live on the Eastern Shore and commute in and out of DC or NoVA. Insane!
All true, but I am often reminded of one thing. Security will always appear excessive until it is shown to be inadequate.

I am about as far from a security expert as you can get. I peak and locking my doors and having anti-virus on my computer and phone. I tend to trust that those who do it for a living know something I don't.

In '06 when the VP was there, part of the water ways were blocked off and they had secret service (men in all black suits) in boats patrolling the water. It was actually kind of cool lol. Then last year, forgot which trip, either June or oct we got stopped leaving Magic kingdom right by the gas station/auto care center die to a motor cade for someone, idk who it was. That was bad. We were stopped for about 30min and I finally got in my gps and found a non public road (Bear Island rd) that I took. It exited on Western Way and I even had to go through a gate at the end. Thankfully it automatically opened from the inside lol.

All in all, I expect their to be delays where ever she goes so just have patience lol.

It might have been easy to shut it down compared to somewhere more upscale.

My uncle lives around the corner from their Chicago house. Michelle is a very nice lady, but it's a bite to walk a dog anytime they were back in the area. And she and the girls would be back a few times a year while the Mr. would be away.
They actually didn't shut the diner down. A couple of people in my office went over and grabbed something to go just to get a glimpse of her up close.

Even though I've never been at a theme park when something like this has happened, I have been in work situations where congressional and senate members have been on site, and while it does cause a inconvenience, the situations are handled with professionalism. I've been in fairly close proximity to Air Force One, and the secret service, while polite, are ALL business. They have a very important job, and in today's world, I imagine that job being as stressful as one could be. I couldn't begin to imagine the pre-planning they must do for WDW.

I do hate the way cities shut down roads when these people come to town, but I really give Disney credit. They do a better job than most places.

They do not let people into wherever Presidents and Vice Presidents visit (I'm assuming this goes for First Ladies, too) unless those people are staying there. So don't plan on visiting! :)

I hope you mean politicians?? o_O
