Mexico Pavillion Restaurant

Does anyone know if the restaurant inside the Mexican Pavillion serves the food with flour tortillas instead of corn? We have a someone that will be going with us that is allergic to corn, just wondering if flour tortillas are available. The menu I saw looks like everything is served on corn tortillas.

Thanks

A question to ask before that - what to people say about how good this restaurant is? It looks AWESOME inside. I haven't eaten there but have read less-than-stellar things about the food. It's too bad, 'cause we nearly booked a reservation there because it's such a fun atmosphere but then read poor reviews and decided against it. I'd be happy to be wrong because we'd love to try it 'cause, like I said, the atmosphere is fun.

my guess would be that they would if you give them some notice. Disney almost always works with peoples allergies/ dietary needs.

I ate at this place in the 90s and it was FAB! I had the BEST friend ice cream and buritto. However, there menu now is terrible. While the ambiance is nice, I wouldnt go here. I do enjoy the Cantina!

True, the menu and food currently is awful. Would not go back unless they really change this place. Atmosphere is fantastic but it thats all. We walked out the last time in fact even because we never got waited on once seated.

We ate there for the first time in Aug of 08 after several failed attempts and we throughly enjoyed it. We did make our reservation for 4pm, so it was still considered a "lunch" even though it was an early dinner for us followed by a snack later on in the evening. We felt there was more of a selection on the lunch menu. I believe I had an enchilada, taco, quesadilla combo which I was happy with and the margaritas were out of this world! We also lucked out and got a table that overlooked the boat ride which was very nice. I'd reccomend it.

Absolutely love the atomsphere, unfortunately, me and the family went there for lunchtime about 2 years ago for just appetizers and drinks, and honestly have never felt more pressure by a server to finish up, pay up, and get out....maybe it was a once in whatever chance of that happening, and not to deter anyone else, but the food was not so great either. Always too bad that Pirata de Whatever It's Called (The taco restaurant next to Pirates, adjacent to Pecos Bill's) is never open when we're there in the Magic Kingdom.

I would like it better if I could read the menu and see my food... Ambiance, schambiance. It's way too dark in there.

Give it a try! I, too, read mostly bad reviews but it was the best surprise of our trip! EVERYTHING we ate was excellent. I had read a lot of complaints that the chips and salsa were Tostitos and jarred salsa but that was definitely not the case. They were obviously fresh, homemade chips and fresh salsa. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all wonderful. My cousin and friend both said the milk caramel sauce on the desserts was the best caramel they'd ever tasted. You really have to disregard all the reviews and try places for yourself - you may be pleasantly surprised!!!!

Those options are no longer on the menu since it has been changed. The food was never great, but it was average. With the somewhat recent menu change the food is now awful. It fits the get less and pay more trend:cry:

Thanks for your replies everyone! Sounds like there are a lot of differing opinions on this one, I will share all of them with my family and see what they think.

Thanks again!

DW and I ate there in 2008. Food was OK. Not a bad meal, but nothing to write home about. A very nice setting for two. We always contemplate going back, but have decided to try some new places this year.

What's this Ambiance, schambiance garbage?
The atmosphere is the best part.
It wouldn't be the same with more lighting.
Clearly most people don't have a problem reading the menu.
If you have poor eyesight, bring a mini flashlight.

It's really been getting bad reviews? I just went there last month and I thought the food was delicious. I forgot the name of the meal, but it was with beef tenderloins and potatoes over a tortilla, with a somewhat spicy sauce on top. The beef was cooked perfectly, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really don't get the negative reviews, but to each his own. :)
