Oh god don't get me started on the centaur. People would have a fit if they depicted the Centaur their historical way. They are frisky to say politely. The NAACP would have a fit if Disney ever tried to release Song of the South. They already boycotted Splash Mountain when it first opened at Disneyland in the 80's. I'm sure Disney doesn't want that again.
Fantasia is also a masterpiece, but the stereotypical centaur was edited out. If they did that with Song of the South, we wouldn't have the film at all haha.
I think its a valid claim. If you display them as anything but sad and downtrodden its considered wrong. Even though we do know of accounts of happy African Americans during this era. Many were happy that they were free, and their children would be free. They knew that for the first time their children had a better chance at life then they did. Any parent would find happiness in that.Do I honestly need to answer this question?
