I've been watching this thread since @
disneygirl76 started it in December, because I, too, had the same concern: already bought PP+ in advance, prior to the switch to My Memory Maker. After reading the responses, I wanted to reconfirm everything, so I called Disney PhotoPass service, and here's what I learned:
If you purchased PP+, but have yet to activate (i.e. begin your WDW vacation):
1.
Bring your PP+ voucher with you and redeem it at the places listed on voucher, as usual. Cannot do online via MDE prior to arrival.
2. You will still receive the red PP+ card. If you are traveling with others, they can simply put PP and attraction pics on their MB, or onto a physical PP card given out by Disney photographers. Then, follow #5.
3.
The claiming of photos remains the same: 30 days from date when pic is taken.
AND, redeeming of PP picture CD begins 30 days from date when pics are claimed.
I.e. I'm visiting AK on Feb. 8th, I have until March 10th to claim the pics and until April 9th to redeem my PP pic CD via redemption code.
4.
PP+ purchasers still get a physical picture CD, using the promo code that came with the stock photo CD.
5.
Suggestion: the day before you check out of your resort, locate a Disney PP booth and link ALL MB's from your travel party AND any PP cards picked up along your trip, to the red PP+ card.
I.e. We will do this on Feb. 14th at the GF on the 2nd floor…I will then have EVERYONE's pics in my account, which will be put on my PP pic CD order.
Here's what I learned about the My Memory Maker:
1. The PP picture CD that was included in the price of PP+ is NO LONGER included in the price of MMM. Ordering a pic CD is an extra expense with MMM.
2. Also, no more physical pictures received at dining locations. It's all digital.
To me, MMM doesn't sound like an added expense we will make for future trips. All's well that ends well?
P.S.
Please let me know if the info above conflicts with info you've received. I will then be calling Disney PP service again.
