By the way, did the show the Pirates of the Caribbean trailer?

Sadly, no, they did not. They showed a preview for Nancy Drew, Underdog, and an extended trailer for Ratatoille.....

(Meet the Robinsons)
I loved this movie!!! Just got back from seeing it. I loved the classic mickey cartoon at the beginning. It was such a great movie with an awesome message and a beautiful score! :sohappy:

....*SPOILER*....

But the the thing that made the movie for me was the very end when the quote came up. The quote pops up and allows you to read it then Walt's name appears at the bottom of the screen. Then "keep moving forward" stands alone as the rest of the quote disappears, leaving "keep moving forward" and "Walt Disney" on the screen. It was beautiful! I seriously began to tear up. That was a wonderful way to end the movie and I really believe that this is the beginning of another Disney renaissance or come back (if you will). :sohappy:

Hidden Mickey Spoiler: (highlight below to reveal)
Check out Lewis' stopwatch when he times the race between Aunt Billie and Uncle Gaston (The toy train versus the guy being shot out of the cannon). The flip-up cover on it is a perfect Hidden Mickey.

Spoilers below.....

Obviously there was Space mountain in the background with a Todayland sign as they came to the future. Also saw reference to the tea cup ride in the garden as topiaries at the Robinson's home in the future with a pot in the middle and cups around. Did anyone pick up on any other references?

Saw the 3D version earlier today, can't say I was impressed. I even asked my wife when is this going to end 20 minutes into it (and I never do that at any movie). I never thought that with Chicken Little, which turned out average at best IMHO.

Frankly the movie bored me. It did pick up once it went to the future, but you still don't give a rats patoot about any of the characters or the story.

The Walt quote at the end felt tacked on like they were purposely trying to go for an emotional pull when the entire movie didn't have one. If anything, it had the opposite effect on me, like you were trying too hard for something since you knew the picture couldn't hold up.

Bowler Hat was one of the most boring and non threatening villians ever. Barely any comedy in the film whatsoever.

The first minute of the film started strong with Goob talking and Lewis scrambling around, I was excited at first, but alas it was not to be.

Overall, can't say it was a bad film by any means, just pointless and relegated to Chicken Little status, totally average in every way shape or form (ie - no DVD purchase for me). Disney is still lights years behind Pixar when it comes to an interesting & emotional story (though they did drop the ball with Cars - only Pixar film I have no desire to own on DVD).

Weird how Pixar was mentioned after Walt Disney Pictures at the beginning of the film. Is that going to be in front of every WD picture now? Milk the Pixar name even thought it's not a Pixar film ???

I didn't see any reference to Pixar other than the one in front of the Rat preview.

How about this....

Did anyone else notice the license plate of the car pulling away at the end of the movie with Lewis and family in it?

The first part read 2DBB

and the last part was 08, I think.

2DBB08
2-D Be Back 08?

Did anyone else catch this?

I thought it the Meet the Robinsons was great. It surpassed my expectations. And I love the 3-D glasses - they're a nice memento.

...anyone else cry at the end when that quote came up??? I had a feeling it was going that what because I really felt the whole movie was a tribute to Walt!

I did!!!

My girls really liked the movie, and I did, too. I kinda felt that it wrapped itself up a little too quickly, I don't know if my 5 year old got the gist of who all the characters actually turned out to be. But overall it was extremely enjoyable! BTW, the Tom Selleck reference was a very cute touch!

Have you ever seen Finding Nemo? The villian in Meet The Robinsons hat was named Doris (like the fish in finding nemo.....).. and one of the lines was clear that they were making a spoof at that.

We loved the movie. I thought it was hilarious. I was crying too at the end!!

My ONLY complaint is that Cowboy Mouth, an awesome band from New Orleans, has a song, in the trailer, but its not in the movie or on the soundtrack. The song is called, "I Haven't Had This Much Fun" and its on their Voodoo Shoppe cd. Slightly dissappointed.:(

Um...I think you may be thinking of Dory. There's no Doris anywhere in Finding Nemo. And furthermore, I don't really remember any lines referencing anything Pixar-related...

Saw Meet the Robinsons 3D this weekend....aside for being just a little long....I really enjoyed it. The ending really choked me up...and I walked away thinking it was a great movie. I was really wowed by the 3D aspect...it was unreal. Actually reminded me of Phiharmagic....I was waiting for the smells, the wind, and a spritz or two of water!!

Um, nope, never seen Finding Nemo. But, I thought the name of the fish was Dori. Are you sure there's a fish named Doris?
