Sick! I better not be the only one who thinks she's ugly...

Youre not. Considering Disney is so close to Hollywood then you'd think they could get a nice model/actress to host this. Instead it seems we got the director daughter.

Sorry for wording this badly. I've been to WDW so I'm familiar with the Top 7 format. This is what I meant to say:

What are the top 7 attractions? I need to know!!!

Those are not the best pictures I took on my trip. As for the top 7 they had more than seven things to do just named Indy as #1. I will try to get a still frame from my video but it might not be better.

Wow, you'd think it would be either Tower of Terror or Buzz Lightyear. Indy is old!

Man, from those Pics Megan is the worst! I hope those are just bad shots of her and she really isn't as bad as in the second Mutant pose.

Well, ya know what... being "hot" wouldn't hurt her. If I was a guy, I wouldn't pay any attention to that... and even as a girl, I probaly wouldn't pay attention either. Being "hot" is an attention grabber, and causes everyone to look at you and listen to you. Therefore Disney would do much better in entertaining people with there "Top Seven's" if the main character was hot. And she is most defienetly not. So I personally think it's bad marketing because I wouldn't pay attention to it unless I was really really bored and had nobody to talk too.

Um, you gotta problem with what I say I would appreciate it if you tell me what's wrong instead of making "sarcastic/rolling eyes" smiley, because while it's fantastic to disagree, its stupid to disagree without giving a reason, wheater its opinionated or based on fact.

You think Megan's pretty? Great. You watch her then. I'm speaking from a purely buisness standpoint. I don't think its good buisness to try and sell something with a average person on it. I'm sorry, but I don't. Think thats snobbish? Well fantastic. I've never seen anything diamond's or even Disney merchandise being sold by someone romotely average. Is it the best thing, to have overly attractive people selling things? No, not on on a moral level... but on a buisness level its fantastic, becasue you transfer the product to the person and the level of attractiveness. You want to BE like the person selling the product. Also average people don't attract attention, especially on TV land....

But please explain your stand point or don't "comment" at all. Have a very Disney day.

Sorry to disagree with you, but...no. Thats not really true. Many times when the "overly-pretty people" are used to market things to the so called "average" people, they tend not to buy the product. They feel that they aren't "worth it", or many times they are just regular people who don't want (or can't) pay for all the fancy packaging that the compaines use to help with the theme of "pretty things".

Well thats your opinon. In my media studies class we discussed the transfer of emotion and feel from the person to the product. You connect the product with the person. Now if the person isn't attractive or has something special going for them (celeberties fall into this too) why would you make that connection, that need, that want etc, etc.

I know I tend to buy products that have pretty people on them. If I saw some hideous chick advertising Maybeline products, than I probably wouldn't buy Maybeline. Same goes with soda... if you see an overweight man selling diet coke, you're not going to buy it. It's the TRANSFER of ideas... "If I get Maybeline long lash blah I'll look Adriana Lima"... "If I get a diet coke I'll look like that girl."

*deep breaths* Okay, I'm doneeee now.... truely. Take my infromation and do with it what you must.

Well, I do tend to wonder how much of this is actually what we think (models and celebs tend to make me :hurl: ) and how much we're just used to seeing. I know media blaming is really a big faux pas here, but since I don't give a damn, I'll go ahead and do it. We've gotten ourselves to the point where we see somebody "normal" and think of them as unattractive and/or fat. Quite sad, really. I'm sure advertisers will tell you that's what "the people" want, but this person, for one, is quite sick of it.

Most people with even HALF a brain know they'll NEVER look like any model they see. But, I wear mascara, so I buy mascara, and apparently the company assumes I do that because of their model. I'd like to publicly state, here and now, that that is NOT true. If someday there's a company that doesn't hire unrealistic people to sell their product, I'm SOOOOOOOO there.

I'm sorry, what was our topic again? :animwink:

So many people out there and each person has their opinions on what is attractive and what is not...how can one be so sure they know what attractive is to the masses? hmmmm....

I take marketing classes and will be considered a business major after one more credit, and plan to study this in college.

My "opinon", as you called it, is a well formed and proven theory that we have spent many months in both classes studing. Most (and the keyword here is most) people won't buy a poorly made product from a good looking person. If the person isn't that great looking but the product itself is well made, affordable and the consumer has a need for the product they would buy it even if the Hunchback was selling it. I don't care what supermodel sells makeup. If I don't need long lash mascara, I won't buy it. Same goes with most things. If Javy Lopez is selling catchers mitts, but the mitt itself is a piece of garbage, I won't buy it.

P.S. Look over your spelling.
