Scruffy said:Those are not the best pictures I took on my trip. As for the top 7 they had more than seven things to do just named Indy as #1. I will try to get a still frame from my video but it might not be better.
Christina said:Well, ya know what... being "hot" wouldn't hurt her. If I was a guy, I wouldn't pay any attention to that... and even as a girl, I probaly wouldn't pay attention either. Being "hot" is an attention grabber, and causes everyone to look at you and listen to you. Therefore Disney would do much better in entertaining people with there "Top Seven's" if the main character was hot. And she is most defienetly not. So I personally think it's bad marketing because I wouldn't pay attention to it unless I was really really bored and had nobody to talk too.

Christina said:You think Megan's pretty? Great. You watch her then. I'm speaking from a purely buisness standpoint. I don't think its good buisness to try and sell something with a average person on it. I'm sorry, but I don't. Think thats snobbish? Well fantastic. I've never seen anything diamond's or even Disney merchandise being sold by someone romotely average. Is it the best thing, to have overly attractive people selling things? No, not on on a moral level... but on a buisness level its fantastic, becasue you transfer the product to the person and the level of attractiveness. You want to BE like the person selling the product. Also average people don't attract attention, especially on TV land....
Lil'mermaid said:Sorry to disagree with you, but...no. Thats not really true. Many times when the "overly-pretty people" are used to market things to the so called "average" people, they tend not to buy the product. They feel that they aren't "worth it", or many times they are just regular people who don't want (or can't) pay for all the fancy packaging that the compaines use to help with the theme of "pretty things".
Christina said:Well thats your opinon. In my media studies class we discussed the transfer of emotion and feel from the person to the product. You connect the product with the person. Now if the person isn't attractive or has something special going for them (celeberties fall into this too) why would you make that connection, that need, that want etc, etc.
I know I tend to buy products that have pretty people on them. If I saw some hideous chick advertising Maybeline products, than I probably wouldn't buy Maybeline. Same goes with soda... if you see an overweight man selling diet coke, you're not going to buy it. It's the TRANSFER of ideas... "If I get Maybeline long lash blah I'll look Adriana Lima"... "If I get a diet coke I'll look like that girl."
*deep breaths* Okay, I'm doneeee now.... truely. Take my infromation and do with it what you must.
