I enjoy go getting a large fry while I'm out and about in the parks..But I was wondering.. Is there some contract with disney that they are only allowed snack food and not burgers from Mcdonalds since there's 2 full service restaurants on property?

Does the Refreshment Port at Epcot serve burgers? I remember they served nuggets, fries and I think even Flurries at one point.

I do remember a place at WDW serving McNuggets, that was probably the one.

If I can add my $0.02 on the issue of why they don't serve McDonalds' burgers: Personally I'm glad they don't. I find the average WDW burger (while not the best in the world) to be much tastier than McDonald's burgers. Perhaps this is the reason they typically only carry the fries. We all know that McDonalds fries taste great, but the burgers are a whole 'nother story IMO.

I'm always amazed by the people at the Epcot McDonalds stand, with all the other wonderful options available... why would you want to get something you can get within a 1 mile radius of anywhere in the country?

I despise the McD's fry stands in the parks... I truly do. Just the smell of them, as I get close to one... makes me nauseous. But... I guess thats all some kids will eat... is nuggets and fries *shrug*

When you travel, sometimes you really want something familiar. Even different parts of the country vary enough in the way food is prepared/spiced/dressed that it seems entirely foreign. Even the same foods seem a little different - which is why on my last trip top DL i ended up going to a chain restaurant for dinner that is near my home. I just wanted comfort food.

I think i came on this realization of how important comfort food is when I was in the UK and really getting sick of the food. I went to a McD's by the theater district to finally try to get something familiar into me, and ended up disappointed that it was so vastly different in taste from I expected. I pretty much had a food meltdown at that point - I was sick of funny tasting cola (they dont use the same recipe) I was sick of everything being really heavy/greasy, and i was sick of there not being any good fresh produce.

So, at that point McDonalds chicken nuggets, which are near impossible to screw up, would of been heaven.

Agreed, but you're not in a foreign country at Epcot. You're still within a one mile radius of a McDonalds just outside the gates of Epcot. If you can't be a bit adventurous within such a controlled environment, then well I guess that's why there's a McDonalds stand at Epcot.

McDonalds is all over the world and everywhere you look. I like disney fries better. And the only things i eat at mcdonalds: fries, mcnuggets, shake, pancake, soda. I only have it like once every so many months. However if im in a time crunch and all i see is a mcd's and know there is no where else ,or i dont have time to wait, i will go there, but thats it

I think many people who've been out of the country know how that feels. I, for one, can remember going an hour out of our way to find a Burger King in Munich. Comforting, even if the soda was lukewarm...

I think part of what i was trying to say that people aren't really understanding or seeing is that it's not just the same country, but regions of the same country (that'd be the USA) can be vastly different too.

Food in San Diego and LA doesn't taste the same as Chicago which is different from Ohio, which is different from New York, which is different from Orlando, which is different from Key West.

They all taste different.

Completely true. Just see how many ways people screw up the Philly cheesesteak. Even the pretzels change from here to New York. (Ours are better...)

A big culture shock we have found in our nomadic camper traveling is the difference in food in Louisiana and EVERYWHERE else!

Well Mcdonalds did become a sponser of countdown to extinction (dinosaur) at the AK. I am sure it all came about when that agreement happened.
