Do you really think they are deniers? Even Dr. Fauci said the risk of outdoor transmission is very, very low and if you're vaccinated it's pretty much nonexistent. The CDC is coming out with new guidelines for outdoor masking as early as tomorrow. Things are changing based on what current data is showing about transmission.
Don't you think there's a difference between "being outdoors" in your neighborhood vs. being outdoors in a crowded theme park? (Unless your neighborhood is Manhattan.)

I don’t think so unless you’re standing right next to an infected person for a significant length of time. Masks might be required in outdoor queues for that reason. From what I’ve read, the virus is very quickly disbursed in outdoor settings to the point that infection is very unlikely. It will be interesting to hear what the CDC and Biden have to say tomorrow.

Whatever COVID bro. If you want to be miserable and walk around with a mask everywhere I would invite you to move to Oregon where masks will be around indefinitely.
Nice cop out, "bro."

I'm a responsible adult, wearing a mask doesn't make me miserable. Got used to it a long time ago. I also have no problem with traffic lights, the directions on my prescriptions, or sharp objects.

But if you want to be miserable about wearing masks, that's on you, because there's no rational reason for it.

Reasonable discussion to have.

Personally, people are too close to me at WDW without covid. They get in your space, walk into you, etc. I don't trust that. If someone criss-crossing the wrong way coughs on me or my Food & Wine goodies, I'm going to wonder about it for the rest of the trip, vaccine or no. (I'm vaccinated. I'm aware there are breakthrough infections - hundreds per state in some cases - and I have asthma.)

To me, that feels different than walking my dog, riding my bicycle, or walking from the supermarket to my car.

I have worked through the whole pandemic, often in higher risk situations, always involving the public. I visited WDW once. I take some measured risk every day. I just don't believe in being foolish for the sake of a short term moment of gratification. I probably won't plan a big Disney trip until it's "back to normal," but I may do a quickie trip at the end of the summer for my bday.

I mean the post your replying to isn’t political or saying “false” info. I’m similar. Worked with the public the whole time. I know plenty of people who caught Covid. Only a couple had symptoms. Usually it was the loss of taste. My best friend had a slight fever for a day. I don’t know anyone who died or was in a hospital. I don’t know anyone who knows anyone who died or in a hospital. Each individuals experience is going to be different. That’s to be expected and fair. I do agree with the point that it’s sad for those families who lost someone. Particularly those who lost someone who wasn’t in really bad health or quite old. We lost my father In Law this year. Slipped and hit his head. The suddenness is certainly tough to deal with so for anyone on this board who lost someone I’m so sorry. It’s tough. But as someone who works in Trusts and Estate Planning, I feel it’s the first time that most people realized like hey, life ain’t promised. It’s how we live when we are alive and able to, and the comfort and contact of those relationships that really make life. For those scared of the virus, you must at least understand that. Most of those who ignored the virus, didn’t spit in the face of others, but chose to live their life instead. Perfect example of why. A buddy of mine stayed away from his parents until he was vaccinated. His father died of a heart attack the day before he was gonna go see him. He lost the last year with his dad. More importantly his dad lost his last year period. Enjoy all your days because tomorrow isn’t promised. All of us will die one day. The vast majority of us, like 99.9999% will die of something other than the virus. Please stop being scared of otherwise healthy people and go spend time with those you love. Do the things that make your life great. Also get vaccinated.
There are some nice sentiments in your post, but I guess you lose me when you sound okay with " those who ignored the virus". In fact, they did choose to "spit in the face of others" by running around without masks, refusing to social distance, and now, a lot of them are refusing to get the vaccine, and my problem specifically on this site is that certain members are spreading a ton of misinformation on a daily basis.

Those people are why we are where we are now.

"Superspreader" haha. Now there is a word that if I went to the 2019 version of yourself you would probably call me a "conspiracy nut" if I told you this is how you'd be talking in 2021.

Disney cares very much about image, it sort of is there thing, you know?

But I suspect that just little bit of a drive up the road they'll notice that the sky won't fall from a packed UFC event and they'll want their 2019 version of WDW back whether you'd like it or not or whether or not you'd still hide in your basement over it. People's livelihoods depend on stuff like this opening up. Maybe you have nothing more than a one-track mind with this thing - avoiding a virus - but there are countless other ways that shutdowns ruin people's lives. Financial ruins is just one of them. So if anything you should be hoping for Disney taking off restrictions and thriving again.

No, look up the numbers that tell the truth. There are only facts, not my facts or your facts. Just facts. None of the numbers show any reason to panic the way we have.

In the US 15.9% more people died in 2020, then in an average year. That is enough to make me concerned that there was a serious health issue last year.

Look Dan, I like your passion, but I got a bit of a smirk when you posted this because boy would I ever love to have a private chat with you to explain some things. Can I give you the abbreviated version though? This was long planned out before you would think and whether it is CNN or Fox or MSNBC there is not too many people responsible for all of the content that gets approved out there. It is more of an "under one umbrella" thing than you'd think.

So the conspiracy also controls my friends and relatives who work in hospitals and have reported the conditions to me first hand? Is it controlling every podcast people produce that interviews people on the front lines?

Why people aren't wondering why countries all over the world who can't agree on the colour of the sky but can agree almost in unison over this doesn't make them question things is a bit red flag to me. Because they should.

Maybe, just maybe, they all agree because it ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

And if we could all just hold with the masks til the pandemic is not a pandemic, then ALL people - including those who may be more at risk and whom everyone has just been saying “well they can stay home then” could have safe outdoor interactions.

but instead the general mindset seems to continue to be, well let’s just get back to normal for everyone and those who can’t because they are at risk, well, who cares they just need to stay home longer.

This pandemic has certainly highlighted that society no longer operates under the “it takes a village” mindset, but rather everyone for themselves. It’s disheartening.

Cases are plummeting in the US. I wonder if Disney has a specific number they are eyeing as an opportunity to justify reducing mitigation strategies.
