Masks and Social Distancing Go Away in WDW

Don’t you think the mask requirements keep people away too though? I know we are waiting til next year for that reason. I wonder what would be the bigger deterrent for new bookings. Required vaccinated or masks. I have no answer, just an interesting thought.

Yeah it definitely does. Disney is going to be last to change IMO. They don’t want the optics of being the first to drop masks because I think they know its too much negative press.

That depends on the numbers. It will be positive to a lot of people, especially those who have done their part and gotten vaccinated.

Very few masks where I live. Vaccine sites are shutting down for lack of demand. Only the big box stores have mask requirements. Compliance there is about 50% and store policy is not to enforce. I don't wear one and no one ever bothers me.

I work in government so I do have to wear it to work, but only in public spaces. Once we're out of public view they are not required.

I had to visit one of our branch offices undergoing renovation and I was in public spaces so had to wear the mask. All the construction dust in the air blew up my sinuses and I had headaches for two days. So, yeah. Not much help from the mask there.

Wanting to protect vulnerable family members is not insane.

We never stayed away from the elderly in our family. We just decided to stop the hugging for a while to be safe.

It seems a lot of park reservations are sold on most days coming up so it hasn't kept enough people away.

It won't be enough at current capacity. It will be different when WDW starts looking to seriously increase capacity.

We use lockdowns for a reason. To prevent senseless deaths.

Yes things are great in Ontario.
Use good sources before you make your decisions.

I am sure for him, good sources are the ones that tell him what he wants to hear. Some people are just living in denial. I guess it's easier for them when they have not been directly impacted by it.

At the expense of who? I've never tested positive, no one around me has been hospitalized or even tested positive. Don't you think it is time to realize the panic and paranoia was actually wrong? It isn't too late. I don't think..................

So we're supposed to take your word that no one around you has tested positive, and also take it to mean there's no pandemic.

Yet you won't take the word of others telling you people they know have died, and that there is a pandemic.

Maybe it's not all about what you can see outside your own window?

2 months ago we had 1 floor for ICU patients...now we 3...and people are going into the halls.
This is real people, as real as it has been in Ontario since this started.

Locally, Cedar Fair announced that masks would only be required in indoor areas in Cedar Point. In other words... no mask needed if walking around the park. Your move Disney.

This is what always amazes me..........I honestly can't believe it.
Ontario should have gone into full lockdown a week before Easter.
Our current government is reactive instead of proactive. It is maddening.
Do I like it .... hell no.
But people on their own have been making the WRONG choices.

Do you really think they are deniers? Even Dr. Fauci said the risk of outdoor transmission is very, very low and if you're vaccinated it's pretty much nonexistent. The CDC is coming out with new guidelines for outdoor masking as early as tomorrow. Things are changing based on what current data is showing about transmission.

Do you not remember the videos from China back in February/March 2020 that showed people literally dropping on the streets dying from Covid? We all know now those were propaganda videos. It worked though. So what I am saying to you is that if you shouldn't even trust our news in Canada why do you trust a couple of clips in India and automatically assume it is nothing but Covid? Be careful, because your reactions help prolong this thing. Compliance is the biggest enemy to freedom.

You have said you don't want to go back to Disney with the current mitigation policies, but how do you know things like masking are actually happening at Disney? Because you saw it on the news, or someone told you on a message board? You seem to only trust thing you see first hand, so what criteria do you use to determine what is true and what isn't?
