We all know that there is going to be a Marvel Theme Park in Dubai and my question is does anybody think that in the future(DEEEEEEEP in the future) this Park might end up in orlando??? I mean the possibility is there and if they are really going with the whole "lets keep the brands seperate" than this would make perfect sense!! Any thoughts???:king:

Waaaaiiitttt a minute.

I was under the impression that a lot of the projects in Dubailand were dead(r at least the 'world islands' were). But this is intresting.

Does Disney now have the rights to this park? If they do, do they go through with it?

I'm pretty sure they do I mean there part of Disney now and Marvel was doing this on their own with any Major theme park developer but now they have disney backing:drevil: them up!

Unless Marvel had there own capital to pay for this park I don't think its a go. And, heres why I think that; Disney just spent a billion dollars on DCA and announced another 500 million for the FL additions and they spent $4 billion in the buyout. I know they are a big company but surely they even have a limit. JMHO.

Perhaps we could get a "theme park" bailout, the feds don't seem to mind spending money that they don't have, or for that matter that doesn't even exist.

I think it could be a great idea to make a Marvel theme park closer to Universal that has nothing to do with Disney. Its own park and no ties to Disney. It makes sense to me. This way it can have its own theme, be fairly large, and be distant from the family friendly Disney rides.

Nope! It would foolish to base a whole theme park on one franchise because Disney would completely alienate a certain percentage of the population.

By alienating a population I hope you don't mean the 3% of people who are on these forums

By the way the park is beign made in Dubai so theres a possibility

ok I will throw one thing out there again. To say that Marvel has no place in Disney World because "it's not Disney", is a loaded statement. Technically nothing Pixar is Disney, so thus it must be thrown out.

If one is to go through all of the properties and take out all of the ones that have been bought by Disney, not born at Disney, you would be surprised at what you had left.

Disney bought Marvel, and so now Marvel is Disney, the end.

I would like to see Disney develop a "thrill" park with harder rides and real roller coasters based on Marvel, Star Wars, and Indy (to name a few). Kinda' like a Disney version of Islands of Adventure...Disney's Lands of Adventure LOL...

Universal has exclusive rights to Marvel in Florida.
Exclusive rights east of the Mississippi River, actually.

Regardless of good idea, bad idea, z0mgs Mouse Not Wolverine!, etc, in order for it to happen, the following would have to happen (based on my understanding of the Marvel/Universal agreement)...

Marvel would have to voluntarily cease use of (IE, retheme the attractions) Marvel characters in their parks
-OR-
Disney would have to pay something in the neighborhood of $140M to break the agreement.
